Grissom stood on the boardwalk of the San Francisco bayway. It had been years since he had been there, fourteen to be exact, since the time he had met Sara Sidle. The day he met her was still in is head. The smile of his former prodigy would always be embedded into his mind. After her kidnapping and finding her, Grissom would never allow himself to forget those three days. Not even the two years before that could make him feel better. Those three days would always be embedded in his mind as well. His name was being called in a different manner of Daddy, he turned to find a little girl of five smiling at him.

"Daddy come on, hurry up or we'll be late."

Even at the age of fifty-five, Grissom picked up the girl and she laughed as he kissed her head.

"Let's not be late Katie or mommy's going to kill me."

Moving on after the accident had been hard but he did so, never forgetting the incident. They walked to their car, Grissom smiled when he found his wife leaning against the car.

"You're late Dr. Grissom, you said five minutes, you took ten." He placed Katie on the ground and hugged his wife before kissing her head.

"God Sara, I needed a break." He looked into her deep brown eyes, remembering the look that mirrored the one he woke up to each day, the same one he had woken up to for the last seven years.

"From me or just to think?" She said looking into his eyes.

"To think, I could never need a break from you." Brushing the loose curls from her face and behind her ears.

"Your son wants you, he's in the car." She smiled and watched her husband move to the van's door, opening it to find their three year old son, James Nicholas Sidle-Grissom, playing.

"Hey you. What do you need James?" The three year old smiled at his father. All the kids had the 'Sidle' smile.

"Play Daddy?"

"Maybe once we get home, ready to go home?" The three year old smiled and nodded. Grissom looked in the back where the other booster seat was, Jesse Nichole Sidle-Grissom, James' twin sister was aleep. The carseat beside James held one year old Elizabeth Amanda Sidle-Grissom, who was asleep.

Sara had a hard recovery but she did it. She was told it was unlikely she'd walk again but for a year she fought to walk and finally did. She was able to regain her body, freedom and finally her job back. Katherine Sofia Sidle-Grissom was born just eight months to the day after taking her first steps again.

"Let's go back home Honey."

"I'm driving." Sara said and Grissom tossed the keys to his wife, his pregnant wife at that. They were expecting their fifth child, Sara was forty-one and prepared for any trouble that was ahead. Being seven months with another girl who would be named Mackenzie Jennifer Sidle-Grissom.

"Alright, Katie get in, we're going home."

"Can we go see Aunt Jenna first, please? It's on the way, it's between Vegas and here."

"Honey?" Grissom looked at his wife, she smiled.

"Why not, we have a few extra days to spend away from the lab."

"Alright, let's hit Los Angeles." Katie said with excitement.

Grissom smiled, he had Sara, his wife and the love of his life, and almost five kids, that was his future.
