He always does this. Why? Why does he do this to me?
The question remained un-answered, repeating in her head as she jogged through the forest, trying to keep a steady pace. Her feet ached and she was getting faint from running so long, but she still continued. Her goal was to get as far away from everyone as possible, and she would not fail. Not this time.
Kikyou, Kikyou, Kikyou, that's all he thinks about! Kagome fell to the ground as her knees gave out on her. She tried to stop the tears from coming, but she couldn't. She wiped at her face, telling herself that she wouldn't cry over him. She couldn't cry over him, it would just prove his point.
"You're stupid" His words echoed in her mind. She grabbed at her head, as if she was trying to stop the memory from replaying.
He's right… I am just a stupid girl.
The tears stopped poring from her bloodshot eyes, and she wiped her face off one more time as she stood up on wobbly legs. Sliding her pack off her shoulders, it hit the ground with a thud.
Kagome kneeled down and started to dig through the front pouch. She let a quick smile grace her lips as she remembered Shippo asking why she had so much stuff. But she quickly shoved the memory in the back of her mind as she felt the tears coming back to her stinging brown orbs.
She finally pulled out the object she had been looking for. A knife. She had it in there for emergencies, but she decided this was an emergency. Inuyasha had gone too far.
Twirling the knife around in her fingers, she stared at the stainless steel blade as the moonlight reflected off it. There was no going back now.
Kagome placed the blade over her heart and with what was left of her strength, she thrust the blade forward, letting a scream escape as she broke through the skin.
She fell onto her back, her brown hair fanning around her head as she stared up at the moon. Lifting her arm up, she slowly pulled the blade out, moaning in pain.
"I hope you are happy now, Inuyasha" were her last words.
