Disclaimer! I didn't use very many named characters in this one, and it's really short. It's also my first one, so don't hate me forever! And the fonts are weird. just ignore it

The waves were dark and rough, and the ship was tossed around like a cork. But, the Captain, a strong, burly man was standing strong outside, the waves beating the sides of his ship, the rain pelting down. He had seen something down there, below his ship. He knew that it, whatever it was, was enough to make him a very happy man for the rest of his life. He had already had nets tossed over the sides of the ship, and he was waiting. For what, he didn't know. Yet. Restless, he went to his cabin, and went to sleep.

In the early hours of morning, just as the sun was rising over a now calm sea, he was woken by a shout. Shaking the groggy after sleep affect from his head he headed outside. The crewmen were hauling up the net. It landed in the center of the deck, and fell open. Many different types of fish spilled out, and crewmen hurried to put the pretty ones in a barrel. The captain liked to collect fish. But they recoiled when they saw what lay in the center of the net, flopping around helplessly. A mermaid. She had long blonde hair that covered her bare chest, and pale skin that seemed to glow in the early morning light. The Captain eyed her hungrily, taking in every detail of her body. From her slender waist to her tail, which faded into her white skin at the waist. It was long and graceful, fading from dark blue at the top to an iridescent green to shimmering purple at the end. The fins at the end of her tail were transparent and silver. "Mine." Grumbled the Captain happily as he drank her in. He bent over and gently picked her up, and took her to his cabin, where he put her in a wash tub. Yes, she was going to make him very happy indeed.

I told you it was short! I might do a "bad" version later, but for now, this is it!
