Mitchie glanced at the clock. 6:30. Ugh! Shane should have been home half hour ago! She had been working all day to make his homecoming a happy one. Shane had been on a short tour for 3 months and she had gotten up early this morning and clean the whole house, (including his office, which is usually hopeless to clean) not to mention make a very nice dinner, his favorite of course, and he didn't even have the decency to come early!
He is so gonna get it! Mitchie thought to herself as she heard tires in the driveway.
"Mitch! I'm home! Baby, where are you?" Shane called out dropping his stuff near the door.
Mitchie got up and walked toward the door. When she got there she saw Shane just kick his muddy boots toward the basket getting mud all over the floor.
Mitchie just glared at him until he looked at her and slowly shrunk back in fear. He knew that angry Mitchie way not a pleasant person to have around. He had the scar on his back to prove it.
"Mitch?" Shane asked in a whisper slowly standing up.
"Don't you Mitch me!" Mitchie shot back.
"What did I do?"
" WHAT DID YOU DO! I have been totally depressed for months awaiting your return, this morning I got up super early and cleaned the entire house and yes I do mean entire house! I spent hours making your favorite meal which is now cold and in the microwave, because you showed up an hour late! Then, you get home and just throw your boots that are completely covered in mud all over the entry way like you don't even appreciate all the hard work I've put in! You don't respect me at all!" Mitchie screamed.
By now Mitchie was in tears Shane felt horrible that he was the one who made her cry. Shane slowly started walking toward her making her take steps back until her back hit the wall.
"Mitch….. Hmm where do I start…. First off I was just as miserable as you were while I was gone. The guys would have to haul me on stage because I wouldn't leave the dressing room. Second, I can't believe you cleaned the entire house just for me. Now that I take a look… it looks amazing! Third, I was late because I had to find Jason who took off in the rain to go find a bird. P.S. we need to get that boy serious mental help. Fourth, I'm so sorry about the boots. I'm a complete idiot. And I promise to clean up my mess. Fifthly. I respect you more than you will ever imagine. I started respecting you ever since you put me in my place in the kitchen at Camp Rock. And sixly-," Shane was interrupted by Mitchie who still had silent tears running down her face.
"This is a very long list." Mitchie sighed. (AN; yes I know that's from Eclipse. I couldn't help myself!)
"I know but it's almost over. Where was I… oh yeah… Sixly, please stop crying because it breaks my heart," Shane said kissing her tears away as she laughed lightly and sniffled, "And last but not least…I…love…you!" Shane said between kisses. Mitchie caught his lips on the last kiss and kissed him very passionately.
"I love you, too. And I'm sorry for snapping. I was just…emotional." Mitchie gave a weak laugh.
Shane chuckled, "It's ok, I'm just glad to be home." Shane said kissing her one more time before going to get a wet cloth to wipe up the mess he made. Mitchie just smiled and he came back, got on his knees, and started scrubbing.
