Disclaimer: I don't own this stuff, and never will, but a girl can dream can't she?
A/N: Just a little one-shot exploring the true reason Drakken never wins (as an alternative to being incompetent).

He wiped the sweat from his forehead with a sleeve, silently cursing the air conditioner and its inability to survive a high-voltage power surge. He poured over the diagram again. Everything was perfect. The math, each equation like a sheet of music scrawled on the paper balancing the power of the reactor and the needs of his machine. The design like a work of art hastily sketched out onto the page, waiting for the sculptor to create. Everything looked…in a word….perfect.
His thin blue lips spread into a large grin he set to work.
Outside of lab she watched, emerald orbs eying his design. Silently she slipped away, waiting for him to leave.
Darkness came as with it he left, trudging off to his room where his teddy bear and Hank the Snowman sheets waiting, equations dancing in his head. She slipped down the hall in his wake, stealing into his lab like a thief in the night. Her emerald orbs danced around the lab eyeing his past creations carefully.
Treading carefully, watching for straw screws and laser guns she crept across the room, every hair on her body standing on end as she expected him to return, years draining from her life as she made it to his work bench where the blueprint lay.
Her emerald orbs skimmed over the design, noticing that it appeared to be a kind of gravitational generator and based on the stick figures along the bottom she figured that it was designed to shift the moon's orbit and flood the world.
Frowning she pulled out a small device and held it up, pressing the single button on it, a small screen coming to life.
A small round boy set down his soda and looked over, "Oh…new project?"
"No, I called you because I wanted to play computer Wizards and Witchcraft later. Doy he's building a new project."
"Point taken. Just hold up the Kimmunicator so that it's facing the blueprints, and I'll do the rest."
She complied, sighing as she waited for him to receive the images he'd taken.
"Whoa...Gravitational fields…hmm…and the stick figures…"
She turned the device back towards herself, "Those would be so he can explain it later I'm betting. He does think I'm average intelligence at best. I'm betting he calls this one his 'Moon Magnet'. So same thing as before? You call Kim when he's done and I set the thing to start going off once any button is pushed after it's running?"
"Sounds good."
"Oh…could you tell her something for me?"
"Yes?" He picked up and sipped his drink slowly as he waited for the message.
"Tell her….never mind." She clicked the device off, slipping it back into her ankle pouch with a sigh. Eventually she would have the courage to tell the redhead how she felt.
Maybe someday she would be that brave.
Silently, like the thief she was she slipped into the shadows, making her way back to her room.
