So I still haven't gone off of this weekend's Scandal binge. Believe it or not, I actually have like 3 more short Scandal fics that I've written over the past few days. And I just started another one. I think I need some new hobbies, but whatever, Scandal's my latest obsession right now and Cyrus is definitely one of my favorite characters. Read, enjoy. Now I'm going to go back to writing/ avoiding studying. Thanks to everyone whose read/reviewed all the random crap I've been posting for the past few days.

So Fitz and Olivia. I never figured her for a Marilyn or a Monica, but I guess you never really know someone when you're in politics. The whole point is to dupe, deceive and manipulate. I've always cared for Olivia. She's always been the smartest and the best for as long as I've known her. I would think she'd be too smart to fall for the most powerful man in the country. Then again, if someone who's been doing this for as long as I have could been duped by Grant, there's no reason she couldn't get played. With the exception of James, Olivia and Fitz are probably the most important people in my life: friends, colleagues, people I trust. I don't want to have to attack Olivia, I really don't. But it's my job to protect the president, and right now, Olivia is the biggest threat to him and he doesn't even see it. It isn't personal. Not with Olivia Pope. I'll go to war with her because it's my job.

I remember the first time I met Olivia like it was yesterday. She was still in law school. She and five of her classmates were interning at my law firm for the summer. It didn't take long for me to see that Liv had far more potential than any of her classmates, of any young lawyer I had ever met. I took her under my wing, so to speak. After graduation I got her a job there. She ate, lived and breathed the job. We always had that in common. She also had the same drive, desire and raw talent that I recognized from my days as a young lawyer. Even after I decided to leave for politics, we kept in touch. When the Grant campaign was on its last legs, the only person I ever thought of calling was Olivia. She was the best after all. I knew that with her help, we could make Fitzgerald Grant a president. And we did. Without Liv, he wouldn't have been a candidate and I wouldn't be his Chief Of Staff. I should have seen it coming. That's my job, to see things coming and protect him from them. But I never thought Liv could be the danger.

I always wondered why Livi left the white house. No one leaves the white house for no reason. But now I know. I'm not sure it's better this way.
