Seven Deadly Sins

'The original performer of the epic.'

The Crimson Commander as he's known. Yes Commander Genesis Rhapsodos is guilty of the original deadly sin. His sin is Pride.

You wouldn't know how vain he was unless you talked to Angeal, Sephiroth or Zack. Even then, they couldn't comprehend Genesis's vanity. Genesis was immaculately dressed from head to toe on the daily. Sure, he was raised by the mayor of Banora. Maybe the fact that he was a First Class SOLIDER might be an excuse for his vanity. However, that's not the main reason behind Genesis's sin.

Genesis always believed he was the hero. He believed that Sephiroth stole his glory; the Goddess surely favored him over the ungrateful bastard. After all, didn't Genesis abide by the Goddess's divine will?

'By the Goddess, I am a hero. Am I not?' Genesis often thought.

Oh how wrong he was. Yet Genesis refused to be wrong. His Pride and actions caused the Nibelhiem Incident. Perhaps if he had taken Angeal's Honor lectures to heart, Genesis might have done something different. He had them 'beaten into his head' as Sephiroth might say. Sadly the past can't be changed.

Oh the fickle workings of Pride have their chains ever so tightly wrapped around him. Around his heart as well. All he wanted was the 'Gift of the Goddess'. Yet Pride gave Genesis a single black wing as reminder of his sin. After all what else could Pride give?
