Hello everyone!
Here's a poem I composed as a tribute to the often-forgotten character, Calypso. I really admire her, because she's so... pure.
I mean, she allows herself to be kind and to love even though she's cursed to be alone for all eternity.

It was a cycle never-ending
Once in a while
Someone comes
And I am always here
To take care of them
To love them
They tell me they love me back
Yet apologize in the end
Because their worlds need them
And I cry as they leave
The earth absorbing my tears
But still
I accept the next boy who comes
For my love is theirs
The men and boys that came
I loved them, just as the gods said
And as promised,
They loved me back
But they weren't to stay
Never to stay
No matter how many of them came
None will ever stay
It was my curse to bear alone
I think of them
I remember every single one
Every face
Every beautiful face
Every strong personality
Sometimes I wondered
If they thought of me as well
In their own worlds
Did they spare a thought for me?
Here, alone as always
I yearn for them
Hoping that one day,
Someone would stay
But that was never to happen
No matter how hard I hope
None would stay with me
This land was all I had
No one was destined to grow it with me
I stay here
Forever alone
