Erik sighed as he leaned his head back against the wall of his room. Although he had just blown up at Zoey for cheating on him with Loren Blake, it wasn't because he was jealous of him. Hell, he wasn't even mad that Zoey was unfaithful to him. What killed him was that it was Zoey, and not himself, who had had Loren.

"Why her, Loren. Why her?" He said as a tear ran down his cheek.

Erik had been in love with the professor for a long time now, and hated the idea of him with anyone else. He realized that it was unfair of him to date Zoey while he had these feelings another, and her cheating would have made him feel better and less guilty had it been with anyone other than Loren.

Well, there's not anything I can do about it now, he told himself bitterly. He felt like he would never be happy again. Loren had betrayed him. Ok, true, they had never been a couple and as far as he knew, Loren was unaware of Erik's feelings, but he was hurt and his mind wasn't working right. So he went through the sleepless, tear-filled night contemplating why Loren did not love him.

The next morning he was torn. He could go to his first lesson (taught by his beloved) with the knowledge that he was imprinted with another. Or he could just skip, claim to be sick and not face him at all, wouldn't that be easier? He sighed deeply as he realized that he couldn't avoid him forever, unless he left the Tulsa House of Night. Or unless I was dead. With a jolt Erik realized that he could end his suffering right then, with the knife currently on the table across from him. He stared at it for a while, and then grabbed it. As he was about to plunge it into his heart and end his agony, someone knocked on his door. Startled, he stopped the knife just before it made contact to his skin.

"Leave me alone, I'm busy," He yelled angrily.

"Erik, it's me, Profesor Blake. May I come in?" Spoke the smooth voice he had come to love.

Erik gasped and dropped the knife. He stood up and scrambled to the door, wrenching it open. On the other side was the most beautiful person in the world, staring at him. breathe, he reminded himself as he composed his features into a questioning look.

"Yes sir?" He asked politely. Loren stared at him for another moment, and then stepped towards him. Erik's pulse rose at such close proximity. In one fluid motion, Loren was in his room, the door was closed, and his lips were on Erik's. Erik's response was initially shock, followed by an intense pleasure as he let himself melt into the professor's body. His hands explored every inch of the body he had lusted after for so long as Loren's tongue explored his mouth. Zoey never made me feel like this, he thought as he tugged the other man's shirt off of him.

Erik had to pull away for a breath, but when he went to resume kissing Loren, he was stopped. The professor was looking at the knife laying on the floor.

"Loren…"At the sound of his name, his snapped up and his eyes met Erik's.

"What is that doing on the floor? You weren't going too…" His words trailed off as he looked into the eyes of his student.

"I…I confess I was. Loren, I can't go on any longer like this. I love you, I love you so much and if I cant be with you, I don't want to live."

Loren looked from the knife to Erik and back again.

"Then be with me."

The smile that lit up Erik's face expressed the truest happiness he had ever felt. Loren's answering smile was just as magnificent, and the two embraced and passionately showed each other their love. Erik Night and Loren Blake were together, and they were never to be separated till death do them part.
