They all said he was in a better place now and that everything would be fine. But Brian didn't care, he needed him by his side. He needed him to make him laugh, he needed him to get mad at, he needed him to share everything with, he needed him to love, he was the drug that kept him alive. But now that that drug was gone there was no meaning in life, no more reason to live anymore.
But everything will be fine when he sees him again. Soon he will join him in the afterlife. They will be together and will be together forever. They will be able to share memories again and make love. He will feel whole again and bask in the light that is Zacky.
As he fell he felt the wind rushing past him and heard the screams of the people below him. He never saw their petrified faces as he was looking up at the sun. He thought about how beautiful the sky looked, he thought about how it would feel like to fly through it, instead of fall, and he thought about how much the clearness reminded him of Zacky. Everything slowed down as memories of the past flashed by. He saw his first meeting with Jimmy, how they soon became best friends and shared years of their life together. He saw how he met Matt and Zacky, how they formed a band and how they spent playing Matt's garage. He saw how the snot-nosed Johnny took over their bassist and how they struggled in their first years as a band. He saw how they grew, how they became successful and how they became the best of friends. He saw how he fell in love with Zacky, how he returned his love and how their first date ended in a disaster. He saw how their love continued to grow, he saw their first time together and as last he saw Zacky getting shot.
The pain was only brief as he landed on the concrete floor. His vision turned black and everything became mute. But in the darkness he could see a light. The rays of the light that touched him were warm and inviting. He stood up and looked into the light. That's where he saw him again, his drug. He swiftly walked up to him and took him in his arms.
"I love you," he whispered softly into the nape of his loves neck.
"I love you too." The rough voice was like music to his ears.
They were together again, the drug and the addict. This was their happily ever after.
