"Gorn Captain-Avenger"
Defeated, injured, and disgruntled, the Gorn ship captain was returned to his ship by the alien Metrons. This, after an unsuccessful one-on-one combat with the crafty, though physically weaker, captain of the Federation Earth vessel.
After healing up from his very deep wounds, the Gorn captain later composed a full report, for the command crèche back on his home world…
"The unforeseen and unfortunate chain of events, where an alien 'force' placed myself and the captain of the Earth attack ship onto a desolate planet to do personal battle, had first begun when my ship had come to the aid of one of our biological research stations , located deep in an underground complex…
"My beloved cousin, from a crèche descended on my mother's side, had been the laboratory research director, there under Cestus 3 – and Salamantha's work on hybrid experiments, between our race and the females of a plant-related people off a distant and wild wilderness planet, had been proceeding well. In fact, I was just scanning her latest subspace-reports to the science-division command, when my ship was summoned from afar, to come to the lab outpost's aid…
"How long the invading Earth-man base had been established, on the surface of Cestus 3, can only be guessed at. My cousin had only a minimum of research assistants, and in hindsight it does seem that her small team of security-soldiers had also been quite lax in their assigned duties. And over half of their force was killed in the sudden cave-in, with which the Earth-invaders had first 'announced' their presence on our precious and formerly pristine planet. Our lab-complex was so well hidden, in fact, that the Earth base forces had no reason to believe they were anything but completely alone…
"Even if it had been unintentional, the Earth-aliens newest construction and laser boring, for a water well some distance from their main base, had, in moments, undone many months or even years of my dear cousin's biologic hybrid research work, with not even one new embryo left alive… and the Earth-man treachery also had ruined her truly gifted hands. Hands which, just one year ago, had given me second sight, with the bionic eye implants I enjoy – and that she had helped to perfect long ago. Though she did miraculously survive, her long and hard-won labors were all completely destroyed, in an instant…
"My naturally cold-blooded temper flew into a veritable, boiling rage! I personally would lead the attack on their puny and poorly defended encroachment of a base, as my powerful deep-space cruiser, and all her crew, immediately committed to avenging our losses. We would not stop until we obliterated them all!
"Just after we finished off the poorly defended Earth-invader surface 'village', their equally powerful space battle-ship quickly arrived, and a small number of them beamed down. In many a ten-dragon of our time-cycles, I never could have imagined, as our continuing battle with the Earth-forces led to space, what strange events would soon come to follow. For, when the alien beings that do call themselves 'Metrons' intervened, and interfered…"
At this point, the Gorn captain took a short break, sampling something captured from the Cestus 3 Earth-man base. Labeled 'instant beverage', on the container it came in, the drink was called 'coffee'?
The End
