Tax woke had to be as wary and quick-witted as possible. Why? Today is the opening day of THX logo hunting season (April 1).
"Tix! I need to see you! I don't want to lose you!"
Tix came running to her. He choked out:
"Tax, our mom, Tika, is...dead. She got shot down by the creek while taking a drink."
"I never got to say goodbye. She's probably somewhere on a dinner table, all stuffed and dressed up somewhere.", she wept.
*Bang!*
"Quick Tax, the hunter is on the hill. Run away with me to the ledge. We will jump off there and into the valley. I know it sounds dangerous, but it beats taking a bullet."
Unfortunately, on that same ledge, was a snare trap tied to the trunk of an Ash tree, and little did he know, Tix jumped right into it.
"Tax! I'm trapped! You go on! You make it out! Be free! Run!"
Tax ran off and sprung off the ledge. Just like in Bambi, where her mother told her to keep going and not look back;and just like in that movie, Tax landed on all 4 feet, when...
*BOOM!*
Her mother, and her father gone, all in one morning.
"Tix! Are you there?"
No answer.
It was official. Tax was now an orphaned THX. No parents. No one to turn to or be encouraged by. Tax sobbed.
