"Yuu. Yuu. Yuu?" Mika whispered, feeling around for his hand in the dark room. "Yuu, what happened today? Are you okay? Remember that I'm always here and I'll never leave you, Yuu. Talk to me, Yuu…"
"Go away, Mika. Please, just leave me be. You're not….You're no-" Before Yuichiro could finish his sentence, Mika placed a finger to his lips, shushing him.
"It's not true, Yuu. They're liars. Don't worry, I'm here to protect you. I'm always here to protect you." Mika whispered lightly, squeezing Yuu's hand tightly in a reassuring manner. "It'll all be okay, Yuu. You know me, I would never lie to you, Yuu." Mika cooed.
Yuu unclenched his eyes and looked up, searching the darkness for sky blue eyes. He didn't see them at first, but soon he found them at last and all he could do was stare into them as gentle tears fell down his face and onto the pillow beneath him.
"I know, I know. I'm sorry Mika. I just get so confused sometimes." Yuu weeped out as Mika pressed their foreheads together and waited for Yuu to calm down a little.
"Look at me Yuu. It's alright," Mika reassured. He waited to speak again until Yuu wiped his tears with his free hand and looked into his eyes. Oh how breathtakingly beautiful they were. Even through the darkness of the night, they were still shining so brightly to him.
"Listen, Yuu. Remember that there's always something you can trust."Mika put on a bright smile, barely visible through the darkness. "Above all else, you can always trust me. So don't listen to that 'Krul' woman. She's feeding you lies, Yuu. She doesn't know you like I do. I'll never let them hurt you, I swear it."
Yuu's eyed grew wet with tears again, the brunette letting soft sobs escape from his mouth as Mika squeezed his hand and rubbed his back, their forehead touch turning into a cuddling session. Yuu couldn't manage to get out any words through his sobs, so he nodded his head a couple times to show Mika that he understood. Mika was all that Yuu needed. Mika was Yuu's everything. Mika was Yuu's boyfriend.
"Let's just go to sleep, Yuu," Mika whispered gently to his significant other. "How about this...How about we go out on a date tomorrow?" Mika noticed how Yuu's body froze and his sniffling slowed before continuing. "Just let the worries of today wash away, Yuu. When you wake up, I'll be here, coffee in one hand and a wake up kiss ready just for you. What do you say?"
Trying his best to wipe away the tears that littered his cheeks and to control his choked sobs, Yuu looked up into Mika's eyes, the best smile he could muster forming on his small face. Instead of being coddled up in Mika's arms, Yuu took this time to wrap his own arms around his boyfriend as well.
"What did I ever do to deserve you?" Yuu breathed out, letting out a slow and deliberate exhale afterwards. "You're too good to me, Mika. You're perfect."
Mika just backed up and looked at Yuu lovingly. Mika was the only one who looked at him like that. Mika was his everything. His soulmate, his lover, his one true support. Mika was all that he needed. Nobody else mattered. Just Mika. Just Mika. Just Mika.
"Now, go to sleep, Yuu. You don't want to be too tired during tomorrow, right? So let's get some rest." Mika repeated, holding Yuu close to his chest again and letting Yuu breathe in the… warmth?
"Alright, alright Mika." Yuu whined, sobs having died down into a slight hiccup every now and again. Yuu sat there, keeping his boyfriend as close to himself as he could, but no matter what he did, he was still so cold. "Hey, Mika? Can I ask you a question?" Yuu inquired, eyes still shut as he cuddled up even closer to Mika.
"Sure. What is it Yuu?" Mika responded, meeting Yuu's closeness with soft touches upon his back, his neck, his cheeks. Anywhere he could reach, he met with his caresses. Yuu opened one of his eyes, keeping it fixed on Mika's shirt. "Why are you always so cold?"
Yuu felt Mika still for a moment before beginning to Stroke Yuu's hair. "Ssshh. Go to sleep, Yuu."
Yuu felt his eyes giving up, closing his eye once more as he leaned into Mika's touch. Everything was fine. Everything was going to be okay. Mika was right by his side. Mika would never leave him. He'll be here the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that, and the day after that.
Finally, he felt everything go dark. Finally, he fell asleep. Finally, he put his thoughts to rest for the night.
It was still night when Yuu woke up next. He looked around for Mika and found him on top of him. His hair was longer? But it had to be Mika… It could only be Mika... It was so dark. Yuu wanted to throw up. What was Mika doing?
Yuu didn't want this. He wanted it to stop. He felt something...That wasn't supposed to be there.
"Mika...please. I want to sleep, Mika!" Yuu cried out, his eyes filling with tears once more as a hand was placed over his mouth. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it!
"Ssshh, Yuu. Go back to sleep, my cute little princess. You don't need to worry about a thing." Mika said as the bed shook rhythmically. Back and forth, back and forth. The rhythm and the tiredness that Yuu felt rocked him back to sleep. He couldn't stay awake. He was so...drowsy. So he just let it happen. He let Mika do what he wanted as he softly fell back to sleep. Mika's hair...was so long that he felt it tickle his back as he drifted into sleep.
The sun filtered in through the window and Yuu woke up feeling a little sore. He tried to think back to yesterday when Mika….Mika? When Mika did… What did he do? Everything was so fuzzy but he was pulled out of his thoughts when he felt a pair of lips on his cheek, chaste and sweet.
Yuu's lips quirked up to form a smile as he lifted his head from the pillow to look up and see his boyfriend, a steaming cup of coffee in his hand.
"You remembered." Yuu smiled, taking in the sight of his boyfriend in just his t-shirt and a pair of boxers.
"Of course. I could never forget something when it relates to you." Mika said, smiling back gently. "After you drink this up, we'll get dressed and head out to wherever you want to go. Any place on your mind?"
Yuu paused for a minute, breathing in the scent of his steaming cup of coffee and raising it to his mouth to take a small sip. Closing his eyes, Yuu's smile grew bigger and he began to relax, turning the cup over in his hands a couple times before speaking up again.
"I think...the garden would be nice. Don't you think?" Yuu asked, staring happily into his coffee cup, seeing his reflection before looking up to Mika.
"Yeah, the garden would be nice. It's a little chilly out, so don't forget your coat."Mika replied, turning around to grab his pants and shrug them back up. "Oh, and one other thing. Hold out your hand for me." Mika requested, waiting for Yuu to do just that. Once he did, Mika put his own hand over Yuu's and placed a small chocolate into his palm. "I managed to sneak this out of the shared kitchen. It's your favorite too!"
Yuu looked down at the chocolate in his hand carefully, studying the way the chocolate was shaped… It was weird. But it was always weird, right? He got chocolates from Mika everyday so there was nothing to worry about. Yuu could feel his mind spinning in circles as he looked at the small piece of chocolate. He felt dizzy, he should probably sit down, but… He had to eat the chocolate Mika had given him or Mika would get mad. Yuu loved chocolate so all he had to do was eat it and everything would be okay. All he had to do was eat th-
Don't eat it Yuu. Don't eat it. Don't eat it. Don't eat it. Don't eat it. Don't eat it. Don't eat it. Don't eat it. Don't eat it. Don't eat it. Don't eat it. Don't eat it. Don't eat it. Don't eat it. Don't eat it. Don't eat it. Don' ' 'teatitDon' .
"Yuu?"
Yuu was startled from his thoughts by the sound of his name and the sight of someone waving their hand in Yuu's face. Mika. Of course it was Mika. It's not as if Mika had left. Mika would never leave. Mika would always be there for him. Mika loved him more than anyone.
"Are you going to eat it, Yuu?" Mika asked, smile falling and being replaced by a frown as Mika continued to wait for Yuu to eat the chocolate Mika had given him.
Yuu looked at his boyfriend, feeling bad that he had caused that expression to form on his face. "Of course, Mika! Sorry, I was just caught up in my thoughts." Yuu said before grabbing the chocolate, eating it, and washing it down with his coffee. "Alright, now let's head to the garden!" Yuu said enthusiastically, grabbing his coat as Mika held the door for him.
Stepping out, they were met with the bustling activity of their apartment building. Yuu leaned over the railing and stared down at the street below him. The street always scared him. Cars always scared him. The road was… off limits for him. Yuu couldn't get near the street without breaking down into a panic attack. It made him so anxious and the stares from the people that witnessed these moments didn't make it any better.
Taking in a deep breath, Yuu continued walking as far away from the railing as possible as Mika placed his hand on his lower back, beckoning him to avoid the street and focus on their trek to the garden.
Walking down the apartment steps, Yuu and Mika found their way to the garden. It was indeed chilly like Mika had said, but it wasn't too bad. Mika wrapped around to stand directly in front of Yuu, grabbing his hands in his own. "I love you so much, Yuu." Mika stated, bringing their bodies closer together while keeping eye contact. This made Yuu flush a nice shade of pink, looking into Mika's eyes with all the love and adoration that he had in him.
Yuu's eyes shifted to Mika's lips and watched as they quirked up into a sly smirk.
"Need something from my lips, Yuu?" Mika chuckled. This lead to Mika letting go of one of Yuu's hands and placing it on the small of his back. His eyes met up with Yuu's once more before he leaned in to meet their lips to the other's
The kiss was wonderful… Or at least Yuu thought it was wonderful. Pulling back, Yuu looked at Mika with such amazement. How did he manage to get a guy like this? Thinking back on it, Yuu remembers that they met in a cafe. Mika was a barista, and Yuu a customer. They hit it off immediately. Their bond was so strong when they first met all those years ago. Their love would never fade. Never. Car. It would always stay alive. Street. I love you, Yuu. Mika? He was his everything. "It's nice to meet you, I'm Mika. It's nice to meet you, I'm Mika. It's nice to meet you, I'm Mi-"
"Yuu, are you okay?" Someone asks, and Yuu lifts his head up to see Krul, his apartment manager. He looks at her strangely, trying to figure out what she means.
"I'm… I'm fine. Me and Mika are on a date right now and I just got a small headache is all." Yuu smiled, looking toward Mika again and grabbing his hand, intertwining their fingers together.
Krul glanced down at their hands and smiled. "Mika, huh? You guys look cute together as always." Krul observed. "Oh and Yuu… Do you mind coming to see me in my office later? I want to talk to you about something."
Yuu just stared at her for a minute, feeling a squeeze from his hand and looking over to see Mika giving him a reassuring smile. Yuu turned to look back at Krul, taking a deep breath before offering a weak smile.
"Do you think that Mika will be able to come as well?" Yuu asked, squeezing Mika's hand back tighter as he released as much anxiety about the issue as he could.
Krul paused for just a moment before nodding her head. "Mika can come too. I'll see you then, Yuu. Have fun on your date you two!" Krul called out, turning on her heel and walking off to talk to other vacants of the apartment building. She seemed busy today. Yuu thought about this, questions floating around his mind as he watched the woman walk around hurriedly. All of those questions were pushed to the side as he felt a pair of lips on his forehead. Yuu leaned into the gentle touch and waited for their joined hands to heat up. They never did though. They never do.
"I love you, Yuu. You know that right?" Mika asked after kissing Yuu's forehead chastely.
"I know that Mika. I love you too." Yuu responded, feeling a tug on his hand as he was pulled along through the garden by Mika's gentle forcefulness. "Where are we going now, Mika?" Yuu asked, unsure of Mika's intentions.
"Just walking around. We don't have to stay in one place you know." Mika said, continuing to lead Yuu to another place by their conjoined hands. "Follow me, Yuu. It'll all be okay, I promise. I would never lie to you." Continued Mika, his voice being drowned out by the sound of… horns? Yes, that's it. Yuu could make out the sound of horns honking getting louder and louder. It was hard to concentrate on anything else despite how hard he tried.
Squeezing onto Mika's hand tighter and closing his eyes shut, Yuu tried to make it all go away. He would do anything to make it all go away. He wanted the sound to just go away.
"Mika!" He called out, through the blur of sounds buzzing around them. "Mika, I want to go home! Just… Can we go home now?!" Yuu shouted out to no avail. Mika kept pulling him along, holding on tight to his hand and dragging him further towards the noise, with no signs of stopping or letting up. Yuu could feel tears start to well up beneath his eyelids. Why was Mika doing this? Where were they going? He couldn't think, he was afraid, and he wanted to roll into a ball and start crying his eyes out.
Suddenly, there was a great flash that erupted before his closed eyes. He didn't want to open his eyes. He was so afraid of what he would see. Yuu didn't like this one bit.
"Open your eyes, Yuu." Mika demanded softly, reaching up to wipe away tears that had fallen with his thumb as he caressed Yuu's cheek lovingly. Yuu shook his head harshly, his grip on Mika's other hand becoming loose as Mika's grip tightened. "Open them, Yuu. Look at what you did to m-" Mika was suddenly cut off as the sound of clapping resounded through the area.
"Yuichiro~! It's good to see you again so soon," A voice cooed from behind him. Yuu heard all of the horns stop in that moment, as well as the bright light. He opened his eyes to see Mika looking at him strangely, then to the voice behind him.
Yuu turned around, staring at the owner of the voice in fear. Ferid. Yuu's body began trembling and his stomach began to fill with unease and the need to empty all of its contents. He found his hand tightening against Mika's once more as they stood, side by side, looking at the silver haired man who had suddenly appeared before them.
Yuu wanted to run away, to get as far away from the man as possible. He made everything feel bad, like it was the end of the world. He was like a kicked puppy standing before his abusive owner. He couldn't handle this. He had to find a way to escape.
"H-hello, Ferid. Can I..Can we help you?" Yuu managed to get out, the uneasiness he felt not calming down in the slightest. He watched as the man's already present smirk grew into an even larger one, increasing the creepy factor that the man already held.
"Why yes, princess, you can." Ferid replied, walking closer to the two boys as the clicking and clacking of his heels resounded through the area they were at. Every step he took caused Yuu's breath to constantly get stuck. He didn't understand why Ferid was so...creepy? Princess… He had called him, Princess. The only one who did that was Mika... Mika. Mika. Ferid. Mika. Fer...Mika.
Taking a step back, Yuu tried in vain to swallow back the lump trapped in his throat. It was useless though as Ferid took his final step, a large one that placed him inside of Yuu's personal space, and grabbed Yuu's chin with his hand.
"Don't wait up for me tonight. I have an important meeting with the superintendent."Ferid finished before leaning in to claim Yuu's lips, failing though as Mika interjected, a glare on his face as he stood between Ferid and Yuu angrily. Ferid stepped back a couple of steps, his face surprised. It was soon replaced with a look of amusement though as Ferid glanced down at the Brunette in front of him, a devilish smirk left on his face. If only he could burn that smirk right off.
"Mika, is it?" Ferid laughed out. "I guess we'll have to continue this later then, Yuu." Ferid continued, winking at the young boy before turning to go back the way he came from. A chill traveled down Yuu's spine and he clung to Mika's back, hugging his form closer to him. He was so scared and Mika was there to save him. Mika was always there to save him. Yuu didn't know what he'd do if he didn't have Mika.
Yuu's form was still rigidly clinging onto Mika as Mika turned around to envelop the other boy in a comforting embrace. "It's okay, Yuu. I promise," Mika assured, his arms wrapping around Yuu tighter and transferring all the love and hope that he could.
Yuu began to relax in Mika's hold, willing himself to just let Mika take control of him at this very moment. At every moment, really.
Having calmed Yuu down, Mika loosened his embrace and pulled his head back to be able to see Yuu's face. Mika noticed some tears had fallen from Yuu's eyes and used his thumbs to tenderly wipe them away. "Shhh, it's gonna be alright," Mika cooed, leaning down to place a chaste kiss upon Yuu's lips, pulling away slowly to look into his eyes. "Look, Yuu. I'm here for you and I'll always be here for you."
Yuu met Mika's eyes, the cold feel of Mika's lips fading after they were removed from Yuu's own. Mika was here and he would always be here. Closing his eyes, Yuu sucked in a long breath and exhaled slowly before his eyes opened again. He could feel a relieved smile tugging at his lips and let it all just happen. Mika was Yuu's soulmate, always and forever and would never leave his side.
"You're right, Mika," Yuu agreed, lifting his hands to place them over Mika's that were still cupping his face."You'll always be here for me."
"That's the spirit," Mika told Yuu gently, in a voice low enough for only the two of them to hear. "Now, are you ready to go back to the apartment for now before going to see the manager?"
"Yeah," Yuu smiled. "Let's go back for now." Yuu replied, Mika removing his hands from Yuu's face to grasp one of his Yuu's hands instead. Tightening his grip on Mika's hand, Yuu smiled as they began to make their way back to their apartment for some down time.
"Mika?"
"Yeah, Yuu?" Mika answered.
"Don't ever let go, okay?"
"Okay."
Walking, hand in hand, they began their trek back to their apartment, never letting go of one another's hand the entire time as Yuu squeezed Mika's as hard as he could. He would never let go of this hand and would never let Mika out of his life. Maybe one day….they could get married and live happily ever after.
...If only.
After making it back to their apartment, they decided to relax on the bed together, Yuu still not having let go of Mika's hand.
"Yuu… Can we at least let go so I can take off my coat?" Mika asked. His hand was practically about to fall off at this point with how much pressure Yuu was using to grasp it.
"No way…. I just want to hold your hand until we get to the manager's office. That's fine, right?" Yuu pleaded, his eyes filled with worry. Yuu just wanted to spend as much time with Mika as he could.
Mika let out a small sigh, closing his eyes to allow him some time to think on his final decision.
"Sure. We can hold hands until we get to the apartment manager's office." Mika had had no choice but to give in to Yuu's sad looking, pouty face. He couldn't bear to have him so worried over nothing.
Walking over to the bed, hand in hand, they awkwardly maneuvered themselves until they were lying on their backs, still holding hands and looking at the ceiling. They laid there together in silence for the longest time, just taking their time to enjoy the other's company. The silence dragged on and on as the clock ticked and tocked, almost as if playing a melody with their heartbeats. This silence wasn't an awkward one where no one knew what to say. It was just… peaceful.
Eventually they fell asleep just like that, their breathing almost too quiet to be heard and the rising and falling of their chests nearly in synch. Yuu's body melded into the bed so comfortably, the cushiony item almost pulling him in like he was drowning into it all. Yuu could stay here forever, never having to leave as long as Mika was by his side. Never. Never. Never. Never. Never.
Yuu was rustled awake by a shaking feeling, moving him back and forth and disrupting his peaceful slumber.
"Yuu. It's time to get up, Yuu." He heard a gentle, smooth voice call out to him. "We have to meet up with the apartment manager, remember?" The voice called out one more.
"Nnn, Mika is that you?" Yuu inquired, still drowsy with sleep and trying to rub it away with his free hand. Free hand. Yuu smiled at the thought that Mika had kept his promise and continued to hold his hand. Looking up into Mika's eyes, Yuu got lost in the blond's eyes, the beauty in them almost blinding. "I love you so much."
Mika mirrored Yuu's smile, lifting up their conjoined hands to place a chaste kiss on Yuu's smaller hand. "And I, you," Mika replied back lovingly. "Now, let's head over to the apartment manager's office to see what she needs."
Yuu nodded, following after Mika as he got off the bed and pulled Yuu along. He couldn't possibly tell what it was the Krul wanted from him, but she did own the place so he had a duty to go. He sure hoped she wasn't kicking him and Mika out! He didn't know if he could get used to another place. It's almost as if he was tied to this place like a spirit and couldn't leave.
Standing up fully, Yuu took some time to prepare himself for leaving the apartment again. Still, he was a little nervous. He couldn't deal with authority figures very well. Still grasping onto Mika's hand, they made their way out of the apartment building and headed toward Krul's office.
The walk there was uneventful, and finally they had arrived at the office doors. Knocking twice, they heard a "come in" from the other side of the door. After opening the door, Yuichiro and Mikaela were met with the sight of Krul sitting behind a desk in her office, cup of tea in one hand, and a pile of papers in another.
Looking up, Krul took in the sight of Yuu, then glanced to the side of him, smiling as she did so.
"Yuichiro, Mikaela. Please, have a seat. Let me get you both a glass of water," Krul greeted, placing the papers ans tea dwn on her desk neatly before getting up to walk over and fetch two glasses of water from the water dispenser tucked away to the side of the room. Retrieving the water, Krul brought it over to them, handing Yuu his water directly while putting Mika's in front of him on her desk.
She walked back over behind her desk and took a seat once more, tucking her skirt under before sitting down so as to not have it in an uncomfortable position. Clasping her hands together, she placed her chin on her hands and slowly looked up to lock eyes with Yuu.
"Feel free to sip on that as we speak. Water is necessary for human functionality, after all." She said. Yuu nodded and took a small sip, prompting her to continue. "I bet you're wondering why I asked you to come here… You'll find out soon enough. Yuu, in order to get better, you'll come to realize that this was all for your best interest. Go ahead, keep sipping at your water," Krul insisted.
Yuu looked at her strangely, not fully understanding what she was talking about. What had she done? What did she mean? He kept these thoughts in mind as he took a couple more sips of his drink, feeling a little dizzy but pushing it aside.
"What do you mean, Mrs. Tepes?" Yuu asked. Krul just kept direct eye contact with the brunette as he took another sip of his drink. She closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath before reopening her eyes and beginning to speak again.
"Just know that you don't have to worry anymore. I know about Ferid's nightly visits and I have promptly taken care of that. And soon...I'll fix your other problem as well. This persona of this person you've attatched yourself to….I'll make sure to fix that," Krul assured. "Don't worry… It'll all be over by the time you wake up, so have a good rest, Yuu."
Eyes widening, Yuu broke eye contact with Krul and turned his head over to look at Mika, mouth ajar. He was fading from his vision as dizziness on top of drowsiness hit him hard.
"Mika...Mika, what does she mean? Mika...Help I...I feel tired...take...take me home now." Yuu spouted, dropping his glass of water onto the carpeted floor.
Mika moved to catch Yuu, yelling his throat off. "Yuu! Yuu, don't fall asleep! Yuu, please!"
The last thing Yuu could remember is Mika holding out his hands to catch him…..but Yuu felt himself fall onto the floor roughly as he fell into a deep slumber.
Krul slowly stood from her chair, grabbing a walkie talkie from her desk and holding down the button. "Come on in and grab the patient. Take him to the electric shock therapy room."
Two men came who had been waiting at the door then came in, walking over to the brunette and picking him up, setting him down in a wheelchair. Krul watched as they wheeled him away, keeping a close eye on them until they were out of sight.
She sighed and took her seat once more. She'd have someone come and tidy her office once she left.
"This was all for the best, Yuu. Goodnight for now."
"Yuu? Wake up, Yuu. It's all over now. You're finally better, at long last." A soft, powerful voice echoed throughout the dark room. "You won't have to worry about Ferid anymore either, Yuu. He'll never bother you again." Yuu could feel the warm touch of a hand grace his forehead, coaxing him into relaxing. He didn't want to wake up. He just wanted to go back to sleep and continue to dream. He felt around the bed that he was laying in for a hand to hold.
Mika's hand.
Where is it?
His mind started to run in circles as he achingly sat up in the bed he was laying in and turned his head every which way. Yuu rustled the blankets, practically throwing them off the bed. He got up off the bed, his feet hitting the cold ground before his legs gave way and he fell, face first onto the ground, feeling a sore pain start to flare up in his chin.
A small hand could be felt on Yuu's shoulder, causing him to tense up and tremble non stop.
"M-Mika?" Yuu asked quietly, a tremor in his voice. "Is that you, Mika?" He continued, a smile forming on his face and tears starting to well up in the corners of his eyes. "I thought I had lost, you!" Yuu exclaimed, lifting his head and turning back to look at the owner of the hand on his shoulder. "I was so worri-" Yuichiro's eyes widened in horror as the rest of his sentence got caught in his throat. It wasn't Mika… It was...Krul? What was his apartment manager doing here?
"Krul…. What are.. What are you doing here?" Yuu continued to look at her, fear evident in his eyes as she smoothed down his hair, patting it gently.
"Don't worry, Yuu. It's all over now. The Mika that was haunting your thoughts is gone now. At last, you can live a normal life." Krul responded, a small, sincere smile lining her lips.
Yuu's head began to shake harshly from side to side, his tears now spilling out at an uncontrollable rate. His body trembled with such a fear that made Krul's expression grow worried. "No!" Yuu shouted. "You're lying! Mika isn't gone. Where is he? Where are you hiding him?"
Krul rose from her hunched position and took a step back. "Yuu, listen to me. You're upset now, but this was for your own benefit. You couldn't keep having this stranger haunt your thoughts," Krul reasoned, eyebrows scrunched up in defence. "It was all for your own good, Yuu."
"No, no, no, no!" Yuu cried out. "Stranger? Mika is my everything, just as how I'm his everything! Stop telling me all of these bullshit lies!" Yuu shouted, quickly standing up to oppose the woman before him.
At the loud tone of Yuu's voice and the animalistic look in his eyes, Krul grabbed the walkie talkie strapped to her side and held the button down to begin communications. "Attention, attention. I need immediate assistance in room 203. A patient is digressing."
Yuu continued to look at her with an anger in his eyes. "Where is Mika? I know you're hiding him somewhere? Give him back! I need him! I need him! I need him! He's all I have!" Yuu continued to yell at the top of his lungs, teetering on doing something extremely stupid.
"Listen, Yuu! You barely knew Mika! He was just someone you had met a couple of times before and who you had a small crush on! But he's dead, Yuu! He died in a car crash two years ago! He's been gone, Yuu," Krul snapped back loudly. "You witnessed the crash is al! He wasn't someone important in your life, so it's time to move on!"
Anger flared up within Yuu, his eyebrows nearly touching as his face scrunched up in annoyance. "Shut. Up," Yuu growled. It took him every ounce of sanity left in him not to attempt to hit the small woman. Clenching his fist as hard as he possibly could, he attempted to relieve himself of some of this anger that dwelled within him.
"Yuichiro! He's gone! Since two years ago, he's been gone. It's time to let go of this unnecessary burden of this shadow of a man you never even really knew. Yuu… Let go of Mikaela Shindo."
"...I love him."
"You think you love him."
"He's real…" Yuu mumbled, his fists releasing from their death grip. "I held his hands a million times and kissed his lips a million more…" Yuu's head hung down, his face being covered with his messy hair and his questioning gaze disappearing into the shadows of the room.
He could hear a small, quiet shuffle, not looking up to see Krul make her way over to him and pull his trembling form into her arms. "Shh, Yuu. It's not your fault," Krul comforted, the warmth of her embrace sending chills down her spine. Her form...she was so warm. Mika had neve-...never been this warm. Only just an empty chill embracing his like the shell of someone who was no longer here….
It wasn't true...It wasn't true?
Yuu's head hurt with all of this thinking. Where was Mika and when would he return? This wasn't funny. Yuu just wanted Mika to hurry and come back already. His one true love and his reason for living. His lover, his boyfriend, his soulmate. The only one who truly understood Yuu. All he needed was to see his face right now and to feel his skin…
Suddenly, Yuu started to see black invading his vision. Panicking, he unlatched Krul from himself and pushed her away.
"Get away from me!" Yuu shouted, bringing his hands up to roughly shove them on either side of his head, blocking out the loud honking that flooded his eardrums. Why was there honking? Stop! It was too loud and all Yuu wanted was for it to go away.
The black invading his eyes wasn't going away, causing Yuu's anxiety to rise.
Mika. Where are you?
Suddenly, a flash of light flooded into Yuu's vision as he slammed his eyes shut tight. He could feel a slight breeze pass him by as he shivered, clasping his arms with his hands to warm them up a little. He stopped though as he realized his hands had touched a warm fabric of a coat he had not been wearing before. Looking down, he saw that he was in all new clothes that he hadn't seen since...Since when?
Looking around, Yuu searched for some sort of item or place that was familiar to him. It was so confusing...He felt like he recognized this very same scene but he couldn't quite place it. He wanted to go back.
That's when he heard it. The loud honking and screech of a car. There was screaming now. Yuichiro's eyes widened, his head turning to look over to the cause of all of this commotion. His feet seemed to move before his own mind could keep up, and in the blink of eye, he was sprinting over to the source of the noise.
He didn't even care about the cold anymore. Forget all the people that were looking at him as he passed by. He knew this was important but he just didn't know why.
Finally reaching the scene he looked on in horror as he saw Mika, just lying there on the ground in a pool of blood.
"M….Mika? Hey Mika, are you a-alright?" Yuu quivered. "Hey, Mika. G-Get up. Let's go home, Mika." Yuu almost cried out, reaching his hand out to the other man as a woman pushed past him to get to the blond.
"Mikaela!" She cried out. "Mika, wake up! Please! I love you, Mika. You can't leave me like this...We were getting married….next month. Mika, please," She begged, tears flowing out of her eyes as if floodgates had been opened up. One after another, they rolled down her face in quick succession.
Yuu didn't understand…. He took a step back, his eyes filling with horror. Who was this woman? Why was she holding Mika so intimately and crying so much for him?
Yuu couldn't stand to watch further, turning around swiftly as he began to run at full speed toward anywhere that wasn't here. Seeing that sight made him want to cry but he couldn't. Not after seeing that woman mourning over him like a lover. He couldn't take this anymore… Mika was….never coming back, was he?
A solemn smile tugged at Yuu's lips as he reached a busy road. Cars zoomed past going right, going left, their journey uncertain to Yuichiro.
"I loved you, Mika."
"Yuu, no!" A voice called out through the haze. "Don't! Put it down!" The voice continued.
It was too late for him though as he stepped into the street as a speeding car passed by. That was the end for Yuu. The last time he took a breath, the last time he opened his eyes, the last time blood flowed through his veins, the last time he was….alive.
"..."
"We're sorry, superintendent. We didn't think he would do that with the gun he stole."
"... It's alright….Yuu was a very disturbed patient after all," Krul replied, shoving her hands into the lab coat she had been wearing. "Just….get someone to clean this up. And if reporters come, I'll deal with them. The authorities however…. They won't be too happy about a patient getting his hands on a gun. Deal with it, Rene." She demanded, her face appearing calm and even.
"Yes, ma'am, I'll get to work." Rene replied, pulling out his phone to call for assistance.
"I'll be in my office if you need anything. But I'll say this right here and right now," Krul calmy warned. " You don't need anything, understood?"
Rene and the security guard next to him, Lacus, swallowed thickly and nodded their heads in response.
"Good," Krul said to them before walking off away from the room.
Making it to her office, she entered and shut the door quietly, moving to sit behind her desk. She picked up a piece of paper off her desk, staring at it for awhile before placing it back down. Leaning back in her chair, she let out a slow and deliberate sigh.
"Another failure. Next up… Yoichi Saotome."
