The Sage and the Grimmwalker
There was a sage who traveled around Remnant and he would help those in need. There was a girl who had the ability to converse and calm the grimm. They would protect her and in return they protected her as friends but in return for these abilities and her grimm friends she had blue markings all around her body and we humans as always fear the unknown.
So she was bullied for the markings on her body but she didn't mind as long as she had her friends and all was well, at least for awhile. In time the bullying escalated and one day she was injured and her friends came to protect her but they revealed their existence to the people.
She was able to stop her friends from harming the boy but all the spectators ran back home and told whoever they could. After awhile they all started to fear her and that was no different from her parents. Her parents never had the best relationship with their daughter and that just got worse with the reveal of her powers so they didn't try to defend their daughter or try to understand her, no they just feared her.
One day, the villagers banded together to tried to get kill the girl as they feared her abilities to commune with the grimm. I don't how they thought that they would be able to kill someone who could control grimm but they did and that didn't end well.
For villagers they were able to hurt her and even killed one of her grimm friends but that didn't help. In fact that just made everything worse. The girl could feel everything her friends could and the grimm were super protective of her.
The girl ran away with her friends and the villagers thought they had won but that thought dashed was dashed away. A few hours later a whole grimm pack invaded the village and destroyed and killed everyone in it.
You're probably wondering where the sage gets involved. Well the girl returned to the now destroyed village but she didn't feel any sadness at its destruction. Why would she, with all the bullying and ostracisation from the villagers targeted towards her.
It was at this time that the sage visited the now destroyed village and somehow he knew why the village was destroyed and surprisingly asked the girl if she would like to travel with him.
The girl was suspicious but the sage told her that she didn't really have a choice. She traveled with the sage and after awhile started to enjoy his company but she still had to get used to humanity. After a period of time she asked the sage why would he travel and care for her after what she did to the village. He told her that he experienced the same treatment when he was a child.
He told her that he was sealed with a demon of great power when he was a baby. He told her that throughout his life tried to get them to acknowledge him and after all his journeys and missions he succeeded.
He told her that the thing for people like them was to make friends that would support and protect them. He then asked her a question
"Would you like to be my friend?" and she said
"Yes!"
But she had a question for the Sage and that was what was his name and he responded with
"My name is Naruto, what's your's?" and then he asked what was her name and she told him
"My name is Emily."
After that they travelled wherever the wind took them and throughout all their journeys they encountered all kinds of situations from big to small.
After all that, they realised that they couldn't age from a certain point in their lives but this news did not affect them as they both had each other.
Many legends sprouted from this tale, some people thought that the two companions became lovers and ran off somewhere far away from the four continents while others think that they still interact with the world today with what their immortality and all.
We might never know.
