The fog had spread though the streets of the city as the young Nightray

stared in disbelief at his friend, who was sitting at the foot of the bed,

combing though messy brunette locks.

It wasn't the fact that all the doors, windows, and cabinets, (just for safe

measure) were locked, that fazed him. It wasn't that she looked like she was hit

by a train in a tornado that concerned him. It wasn't that everyone believed she

was dead that shook him.

It was what she had said to him.

The very words that made his heart flutter, like lightning coursing though

his veins. The very words that were so simply, yet so powerful that they shut

off his mind, encasing it in to a pure white cage. The very words that he himself had been too afraid to say.

And within a split second of speaking, she was wrapped in his arms. She chuckled, snaking her hands around his what seemed like hours, he mumbled his reply.

"I love you, too."
