Harry Potter and the Winding Path
Chapter: 1 The First Step
The feather slid beneath the inky surface of the liquid that had collected in the earthen bowl sitting on the table. To those who didn't know this would just be another unused basement somewhere in London. Still, the strange seen that played out here would betray that vision of normalcy.
A boy of no more than 16 lay strapped to a table in the empty basement. He was not drugged but still he did not protest to his apparent incarceration. No he had sought this place out, and it had not been easy. An older man sat beside him, twirling the feather in the bowl. He seemed older, yet he had a strong presence that did not betray his age. Long gray hair fell down past his shoulders and fell loosely against his back. His eyes had a strange golden sheen to them and seemed to shine with a light of there own.
"You do realize that once we begin there is no turning back. You have thought about what you are beginning."
