I scowled, turning the TV off. It had been yet another commercial showing the smiling face of my former best friend, Liam Payne, and his band One Direction. For two years they had been touring, releasing two CDs and doing countless signings. And now they were advertising their upcoming world tour.
Not that I cared, since I wasn't going. My friends didn't understand my disgust with the world's most popular boy band. But I couldn't tell them, couldn't explain how Liam and I used to be best friends until he moved away, became famous, and we stopped talking. How, since then, I had seen him once and talked to him four of five times. Other than that, I had lost contact with my best friend. Not that any of them would believe me anyways.
I grabbed my computer, opening it and turning it on. My time on the internet didn't last long, since all that was on facebook and twitter was "One Direction this" and "One Direction that." I sighed and shut the computer, setting it aside. The only options I had left were reading one of my many books yet again, or going for a walk. Seeing as it was one of those rare, sunny days in Wolverhampton, I chose the walk. I grabbed a sweatshirt and wrote my mom a quick note before heading out the door.
I had been walking for a couple blocks when the weather took a turn for the worse. "Typical." I muttered to myself, pulling my hood over my head as the first raindrops started to fall.
My eyes focused on the sidewalk, I didn't notice the couple until it was too late. I landed on the sidewalk hard, waving away the hand that was offered to me. I stood up, brushing my shorts off and scowling.
"Rahela?" I stopped in my tracks, slowly turning towards the slightly familiar voice. "I knew it! It is you!" the boy said, smiling widely. Of course, I had run into none other than Liam and what looked to be his girlfriend.
My eyes widened. "I, I have to go." I stammered, turning an running down the street. Ignoring Liam's calls, I didn't stop until I was in my room.
I knew that Liam had a girlfriend, just from all the talk that went on online. I also knew that she was gorgeous, and a dancer on top of it. And of course, I would have to run into Liam while he was with her.
Not that it would mean anything to him; he couldn't possibly know that I loved him. That I had loved since the day we met and never had the guts to say anything. And now he was here, in Wolverhampton, with his girlfriend.
All of this was running through my head as I lay, sprawled out, on my bed. I was so caught up in my thoughts that the knock on the door didn't register until the third or fourth time hearing it. Slowly, I stood up, wiping the stray tears the had escaped off my face. I opened the door, a look of surprise crossing my face as I saw Liam standing there, alone, breathing heavily.
"What the hell Rahela?" he said, frowning and leaning against the doorframe.
My mouth opened and closed, no sound coming out at first. "I...I'm sorry." I finally stuttered out. "I just saw you and your girlfriend and I...I got jealous..." I continued, the last part coming out as a whisper.
Liam's face turned from one of anger, to surprise, to joy. "Jealous?" he asked, a slight smile on his face.
I nodded a little. "Yeah...Liam I've always liked you and seeing you with-" he cut me off by pressing his lips gently against mine. I pulled away quickly. "What are you doing? You have a girlfriend!"
"Not anymore. I found out she was cheating on me and we broke up." he said, shrugging.
Now that I thought about it, they had looked like they were fighting when I ran into them. This thought was quickly chased out of my mind as Liam kissed me again. "I love you Rahela." he whispered softly.
"I love you too Liam."
