Disclaimer: I do not own any characters, only the story.
I sat in the seating area by the entrance of the brothel. I was expecting a new client soon and was starting to fidget with anticipation while staring at the door. I jumped when a tall, surprisingly handsome man walked through the door bringing with him a waft of cool air and snow. His high cheek bones highlighted a set of green eyes even more so due to his pale face being slightly pink from the New York December air. Snow also dusted his deep brown hair and broad shoulders.
He approached a woman I had come to know as Rachel and whatever he said had made her smile widely. She pointed him toward me and he followed her directions. When he finally stood in front of me my heart was pounding so loud I worried if he could hear it.
"Kurt," he said smoothly. I nodded. "My name is Blain Anderson." Again I only nodded.
"Oh sorry," I said silently cursing myself for staring. "My room is on the second floor. Follow me." I grabbed his wrist pulling him along. I was shocked by how cold his hands were and although it wasn't necessary I never let go of his hand.
When we made it to my door, I pushed it open and swept my hand for him to enter. He hesitated but walked through the door way grabbing my hand this time. I kicked the door shut and Blaine pressed me back against it. Taking a deep breath and shutting my eyes, I shut everything off getting ready to just do my job and move on. When Blaine hesitated a bit too long I opened my eyes and asked him what was wrong.
"You don't want it."
"Huh?"
"You don't want to sleep with me."
"So? It's my job."
"I won't do anything you don't want to."
Taken aback by his observation and his generosity, I walked and sat on the edge of the bed. Hesitating yet again he followed suit.
"Let's just talk, okay," he asked.
I nodded. Well this is new.
Blaine said we should talk and we did just that. We talked about our family, our past, our future, and everything in between. He came back every day around 5 for at least 3 weeks. But today he was late.
