Rememberance

In loving memory of Monty Oum.

"Do you think she remembers us?"

Yang turned to her younger sister, a worried look etched onto her faces. Ruby was known to sometimes produce questions from thin air, but they more often than not had a purpose. "Who?"

"Mom."

The blond took in a deep breath. The only question now was—which mother? Summer? Or Yang's mother?

"I'm sure Summer remembers you, Ruby. She died protecting us—protecting the world."

The younger girl turned her silver eyes to her older sister. "But what about your mother, Yang?"

Yang met Ruby's gaze. "I don't know, Ruby. We've been over this so many times. I don't know." Her fists clenched at her sides. "She left when I was a baby and then I never saw her since. I don't know where she is, if she's alive, or even what she looks like." She shook her head. "Summer is the one I remember—Summer is the one I consider my mother."

"But she died."

"Where is this coming from Ruby? What brought this on?"

Ruby shrugged, turning her head away. "I guess death makes a lot of people think about what they have and what they've wasted. It's a lonely thing."

May we all remember Monty for all the wonderful things he did. Not just with RWBY, but with the rest of the work he had done while being a part of the RoosterTeeth family. He will be missed terribly.
