Behind These Eyes of Mine

Love is said to be like a waterfall, never ending.

But how can that be when you left me for her?

The answer is it cannot.

You said you loved me and I believed you.

But how can I believe you anymore?

You took my trust and destroyed it for what?

Some girl you met on the street?

Some girl that took you away from me?

I find that to be just plain cruel.

I gave you my heart and soul.

I gave you everything I had.

And now because I did, I feel nothing.

What made you change?

Was it me or was it her?

I can't help but think that it was all just an illusion.

Meant to make me believe you so that you could crush my dreams.

And if that is true, than you succeeded.

I hope that you are happy now.

Because there is nothing left of my heart.

That is, not for you anyway.

Don't think that you are coming back either.

Because you're not.

I won't let you do this to me again.

There is nothing to help you now either.

Because now that we are over,

Things will never be the same.

You are now a stranger to me.

Behind these eyes of mine lies nothing but pain and hatred.

So expect nothing good from me, not even a birthday or Christmas card.

Because as of now, you are dead to me.
