Two inseparable friends, Shreya and Purvi, met with an accident on their way to Juhu beach. The following morning, Purvi woke up blind and Shreya was still unconscious. Dr. Vinod was standing at his bedside looking at her health chart and medications with a thoughtful expression on his face. When he saw Shreya awake, he beamed at her and asked." How are you feeling today Shreya?" Shreya tried to put up a brave face and smiled back saying, "absolutely wonderful Doctor. I am very grateful for all that you have done for me. "Dr Vinod was moved at Shreya's deed. All that he could say was, "You are a very brave women Shreya and God will make it up to you in one way or another". While he was moving on to the next patient, Shreya called back at him almost pleading, "promise me you won't tell Purvi anything".
"You know I won't do that. Trust me." and walked away.
"Thank you " whispered Shreya. She smiled and looked up in prayer " I hope I live up to your ideas...please give me the strength to be able to go through this.."
Months later when Purvi had recuperated considerably, she stopped hanging around with Shreya. She felt discouraged and embarrassed to spend time with a disabled person like Shreya.
Shreya was lonely and disheartened ,since she didn't have any body else other than Purvi to count on. Things went from bad to worse. And one day Shreya died in despair. When Purvi was called on her burial, she found a letter waiting for her. Dr Vinod gave it to him with an expressionless face and said" This is for you Purvi. Shreya had asked me to give it to you when she was gone".
In the letter she had said: " Dear purvi, I have kept my promise in the end to lend you my eyes if anything had happened to them. Now there is nothing more that I can ask from God, than the fact ,that will see the world through my eyes. You will always be my best friend…..Shreya".
When she had finished reading Dr. Vinod said " I had promised Shreya to keep her sacrifice she made a secret from you. But now I wish I didn't stick it Because I don't think It was worthy it" .
All that was left for Purvi while she stood there was tears of regret and memories of Shreya for the rest of her life .

how was it?..i didn't want really shreya to die in the story but was necessary..hope u all liked it :)
