Alice POV
I pressed my face against the glass. I'd lived maybe a hundred years, but I'd never been to an aquarium. It was marvelous.
Jazz brought me here as a surprise for our anniversary. I giggled internally; any normal couple celebrating such an anniversary would spend the day thinking about how much they'd aged in the relationship and remembering the times they were still young enough to be intimate. But we got to celebrate it in every way. I do mean every way.
That's not saying our whole relationship is about sex. It's just a pleasant bonus.
My baby laughed in the background, probably at my expression. I had a silly grin on my face as I played fishy-talk with an adorable clownfish. It almost looked like it was smiling. I stared with wide eyes at a large angelfish that was warily watching me. It ogled.
"Alice, has anybody ever told you that you're like a five year old with a shiny new toy? Amazement is rolling off you like tidal waves."
I turned and stuck my tongue out playfully at him.
"What is so amazing about fish anyway?" He asked, still teasing. I got a bit more somber.
"It's not the fish themselves that amaze me, it's the fact that they aren't scared of me. It's a new feeling, y'know?"
He sent me encouragement. He liked me to be honest about everything with him. And he probably appreciated my observation.
I turned back to the fish and kissed the glass where a starfish clung. It didn't flinch.
I felt arms around my waist comfortingly. Then he set his chin on my shoulder.
"I'm not afraid of you."
I sniggered out loud this time. "You should be."
"Oh yeah?" He asked me, more challenging me than anything.
"Yeah. We're going shopping after this."
A/N: What do you think? I had this idea today during study hall. I wanted to call it 'Finding Emo' because fish you know, and Jasper is emo lol. But it seemed too irrelevant. Review!
