It was a dark knight. The moon barely shined on the rogue state alchemist on the run through the alleyways. Any soldier he came across, he'd brutally murder. His name was Isaac, the Freezing Alchemist. He was on the run until he came across a short, blonde kid with a red jacket. Right next to him was a taller girl with an equally red jacket. At first, Isaac wasn't worried. But then, the boy clapped his hands together and placed them on the ground. A surge of energy shot from the ground and Isaac dodged it only to he caught in a red aura he couldn't move in.
"Now, boys!" the girl said waving her hands to emit the red aura.
Suddenly, Isaac was hit with a silver streak that knocked him back. The streak was revealed to be a teenage boy with silver hair, goggles, and a black leather jacket. Isaac was about to attack, but then, he looked up and saw a metal suit of armor fall from the sky. He rolled backwards out of the way. When he saw the four, he paid more attention to the boy in the red jacket. One of his sleeves was filled with a metal arm that stunned Isaac with shock.
"An automail arm?" He asked. "The ability to do alchemy without a transmutation circle. Two mutants with telekinesis and super-speed. So you're… Edward Elric, the Fullmetal Alchemist." He turned to the big one in the suit of armor. "So it's not you?"
"Um, no. I'm his younger brother, Alphonse."
"But he's a runt." Isaac said.
Edward didn't take that well. "OH, YEAH?! CAN A RUNT DO THIS?!" He clapped his hands and several pillars surrounded Isaac until his face was squeezed.
"I've heard the stories," Isaac said, "But still. I never would have thought the Fullmetal Alchemist was just a little kid."
"DON'T CALL ME LITTLE!" Edward shouted in frustration. He sent another pillar to send Isaac flying backwards in the alley.
"You know, brother," Alphonse said, "I don't think he was talking about your height just now."
"WELL, EVEN IF HE WASN'T HE STILL TICKED ME OFF!" Edward responded.
Just then, several soldiers came and quickly arrested the Freezer. A couple of them approached Alphonse with a smile.
"Hey! You must be the Fullmetal Alchemist! Thank you and your brother for help in catching the Freezer."
"Hey," the silver-haired teenager said, "What about me and my sister?"
"Are you their mutant companions?" the soldier asked.
"Yeah. I'm Pietro Maximoff. This is my sister, Wanda."
"Well… it's not like the military awards the tools alongside the people who use them." The soldier scoffed.
"WHAT?!" Pietro asked angrily. "WANNA COME HERE AND SAY THAT?!"
"Pietro, stop it." Wanda said grabbing her brother's wrist.
"Mr. Elric," the soldier said, "Please, keep your mutants under control."
"Actually," Alphonse started to say.
Suddenly, a puff of red smoke appeared right beside the rogue alchemist. There was a tall, skinny, red-skinned man with devil tail that he used to swing around cutting soldiers. He grabbed onto Isaac and they both vanished into thin air.
"What was that?" Edward asked.
"That was the Freezing Alchemist's assigned mutant in the Ishval War." Another soldier explained. "Azazel."
While Edward and Alphonse were explaining the situation to Colonel Roy Mustang in his office, Pietro and Wanda were forced to wait right outside the door.
"This stinks." Pietro said. "We were involved with that case as much as Ed and Al, so why aren't we in the briefing?"
"We're not here for praise, Pietro." Wanda said.
"I know, but still." Pietro said.
Suddenly, another mutant came. He was a large man with silver-plated skin. He was with another man with short, but slightly spiky hair and wore glasses.
"Hey, Colossus." Pietro said. "Let me guess, you were forced to wait in the hallway too?"
"Actually, I am here to let Colonel Mustang know that Maes Hughes is here." Colossus said. "He gets peeved when he shows up without an announcement."
"Hello." Hughes said. "You must be the Maximoff twins. Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch."
"Pietro and Wanda are fine." The sister said. "I don't really like being called a witch."
"Oh, sorry." Hughes said. "I always thought mutants chose their own names."
"Well, we don't." Wanda said.
"Sorry to hear that." Hughes said. "Say, since I heard you two and your partners, the Elric brothers, don't have a place to stay, I'll be happy to invite you to my home for the night. I'm sure my wife and my little sweetie-weetie pie-wie would love to meet you."
"Uh…" Pietro said slightly uncomfortable at the baby talk. "Well, that sounds like something you should take up with the Elrics. Personally, I don't mind as long as you're feeding us."
"All right." Hughes said. "I'm going to go in and talk to them right now."
Later that night, Maes Hughes brought Edward, Alphonse, Wanda, and Pietro to his house to meet his wife, Grace, and his daughter, Alicia. He playfully rubbed his stubble beard on Alicia in a childish hug making her laugh. When he was done, he introduced his family.
"I'd like you to meet the Elric brothers, Edward and Alphonse. And these are their friends, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff."
Alicia playfully pointed at Alphonse. "Big brother." She then pointed at Edward. "Little brother."
While Pietro was close to laughing out loud, Edward was beginning to get upset, but tried to hold it in. "Nice to meet you. My name is Edward Elric. This is my younger brother, Alphonse Elric. Get it? Younger. Brother."
"But younger means little." Alicia said. "You're little."
He couldn't hold it in. Pietro cackled loudly while Al was holding his big brother during his ranting. Even Wanda couldn't help but chuckle a little.
The Hughes family let the four of them in before letting them sit on their dinner table.
"So, I've got a question." Grace said. "Wanda, Pietro, you're both mutants right?"
"Yep." Pietro said taking a bit if their dinner. "Born with abilities other humans can't get themselves. I have super speed. My sis has telepathy and telekinesis."
"So what are you doing working for the military?" Grace asked. "I'd think that's the last place for mutants to be allowed in. Don't get me wrong. I do support mutant rights, but still…"
"It's part of the alchemist-mutant partnership program." Edward explained. "Some alchemists are assigned mutants to act as their companions in their jobs. Me and Al got Wanda and Pietro."
"Of course, the only way we could get in is by registering ourselves to the military." Wanda said. "That's one downside."
"Hey, don't worry about it." Hughes said. "For what it's worth, I think you guys are OK. By the way, Al, how are you going to eat wearing all that armor? Take it off, why don't you?"
The four of them started to get nervous. They exchanged looked until Pietro spoke up.
"He… can't."
"It's part of his alchemy training." Wanda said.
"Yeah, he's not allowed to take it off." Edward said.
Deep into the center of the city, Isaac had frozen a prison guard to speak to a certain prisoner: Kimblee the Crimson Alchemist.
"You can't be serious." Kimblee said. "Come on, your little revolution sounds like more trouble than you're saying. And based on what you're saying about your mutant, it doesn't sound like he's too into it as well."
"Azazel's got as much of a reason to fight as we do." Isaac said. "Come on, Kimblee. If we band together, we'll be unstoppable. You know Bradley's got blood on his hands that he refuses to wipe away. His orders caused the deaths of hundreds in Ishval. Isn't that why you killed the Furher's soldiers after the war, because you were angry?"
"You misunderstand my motives." Kimblee said. "I didn't kill them out of revenge or anger. The reason I killed those men is… because I can. Plain and simple."
Isaac gave a huff before leaving the hallway. When he left, he ran into Azazel.
"And his mutant?" Isaac asked.
"Not here."
"So he's either dead or transferred."
"Either way, good riddance." Azazel commented. "I know he could be useful, but if the rumors I've heard about Kimblee's mutant companion is true, than he's the last person we should have by our side. Let's just go. We've got a Furher to kill."
The window curtains were left open letting moonlight shine into the guest room where the Elrics and the Maximoffs were sleeping.
"Hey, guys." Alphonse said. "That pie Mrs. Hughes made sure looked delicious."
"Yeah." Edward said. "It was wonderful."
"Really?" Alphonse asked. "Great. I'm adding that to the list of things I'm going to eat once I get my body back."
"Perhaps we might share that with our dad once we find him." Wanda said.
"If we find him." Pietro said. "You'd think mom would tell us who he is or why he left us."
"Pietro, our father doesn't even know we exist." Wanda said. "Mom told us he left before she knew she was pregnant. You know that."
"Well, he still left her and we don't know why." Pietro said.
"Welcome to our world." Edward said. "Maybe that's why we got along when you were assigned to me and Al on our first day in the military. But hey, we have an understanding. Unlike us, you actually want to meet your old man. So we help you find him and you help us get our bodies back."
"I'm glad we're friends, by the way." Alphonse said.
"Thanks, Al." Pietro said. "You're a good kid."
Suddenly, there was a big explosion. Everyone jumped out of bed and looked outside. Several explosions of dust and concrete were making a trail downtown. Each explosion also had a trace of a chilly breeze.
"Freezer?" Wanda asked.
"Freezer." Everyone else confirmed.
Soldiers attempted to shoot Isaac and Azazel down, but they always dodged, either by skill or mutant powers. In a matter of time, they were intercepted by Alex Louise Armstrong and his mutant companion, Rockslide.
"Rockslide, do something about Azazel." Armstrong said.
"On it." Rockslide said. Suddenly, he gathered a bunch of rocks around him in a large suit of armor. He jumped up and attempted to grab the red mutant, but he kept disappearing.
The Elrics and the Maximoffs entered the scene.
"What do we do?" Wanda asked.
"Me and Al will take care of the Freezer." Edward said. "You two get the citizens to safety."
"On it." Pietro said. He placed his goggled over his eyes before dashing off into the distance. Wanda followed with levitation.
Building by building, room by room, Wanda and Pietro picked up the civilians and brought them to a safe distance. Some of them were reluctant to have to be saved by mutants, but given the circumstances, they had no choice. As soon as they were done getting every citizen in the area to safety, the twins met back.
"So what do we do now?" Wanda asked.
"Well, the Elrics can't exactly give us orders from their distance, so I say we do our own thing." Pietro suggested.
"That's not approved." Wanda said. "With the military debate over mutants losing citizenship, any unauthorized action we take could be used against us. Are you an idiot or do you just think I am?"
"Look, sis," Pietro said, "If we leave it up to them, Isaac and his friend will just get away again. Azazel will just help him escape if we arrest him, so we have to take him out first. I'm the only one who can keep up with his teleporting, so it's up to me."
"Pietro, I…" Wanda said, but before she could say any more, her brother zipped away in a blur. She sighed and smacked her forehead.
Pietro dashed back into the city until his eyes caught sight of the red teleporter fighting the mutant in rock armor. Azazel was about to teleport again, but before he could, Pietro managed to get to him in time and grab his tail so they'd both end up in the same place: an alley. Pietro took the opportunity to swing Azazel into a bunch of trash cans.
"It's over, tomato-face." Pietro said.
"You wouldn't be fighting if you knew why we're doing this." Azazel said.
"You're a bunch of rogue soldiers." Pietro said. "Going against the government is what rogue soldiers do."
"Isaac is the rogue soldier." Azazel said. "I was always just a tool in the world's eyes. This military is corrupt and the system is doomed to backfire. And with the Anti-Mutant Citizenship debate, something had to be done. And as you can see…"
Suddenly, the entire city shook and a large glacier of ice emerged from the middle. Isaac was on top riding it to the center of the city where military headquarters waited.
"…There is no stopping it." Azazel poofed away one last time.
Pietro ran to the group of alchemists and their mutant companions where his sister and the Elrics waited.
"Guess we know what the Freezing Alchemist was up to." Edward said. "He's been planting transmutation circles all over town to make this glacier."
"And now, he's going to freeze HQ over." Roy Mustang said. "Listen up, we're going in two teams. One team stays on the ground to break apart the glacier from the base. Colossus, Hawkeye, Domino, Armstrong, Rockslide, you're with me. Elric brothers, you and the Maximoff twins go up top to deal with the alchemist who made this."
"On it, sir." Edward shouted as he jumped to the top of the glacier with Al and the others.
The four of them made it to the top where Isaac waited. They exchanged blows until one of the evil alchemist's ice attacks blew Al's helmet clean off… with no head found underneath. And even though there was no head or body to be found, the armor still kept moving shocking Isaac.
"What?" he gasped. "But how… Wait. Now, I see. You attempted the ultimate taboo: human transmutation!" Edward glared his eyes and growled his teeth at the guess.
"Read the room, Isaac!" Pietro shouted as he dashed one more time catching the Freezing Alchemist off guard. Isaac was pushed off the glacier right as the ground team made it to the front and blew it up and smashed it to pieces.
On the ground, in another alley, Isaac attempted to limp away.
"AZAZEL!" he shouted. "WHERE ARE YOU?! AZAZEL!"
Isaac stopped when he came face to face with the man he hated most in the world: the Fuher King Bradley.
"You." Isaac growled. "Well then… IT'S TIME WE SETTLE THIS!"
Isaac went for an attack, but right when he came to contact with him, Bradley unsheathed his sword faster than the eye could perceive, and the next thing anybody knew, Isaac was slain by a super-fast sword slice. He fell to the ground as Bradley sheathed his sword back.
The alchemists and mutants went to the alleyway where Bradley waited above the Freezing Alchemist's corpse.
"Oh, hello there, youngsters." He said. "Don't worry, he won't be bothering anybody."
"What about Azazel?" Armstrong asked.
"Haven't seen him." Bradley said. "I can only assume he escaped."
"And the Philosopher's Stone?" Edward asked. "Al and I found out he was using a stone to make himself stronger."
"He was?" Wanda asked.
"Well, I haven't seen any on him." Bradley said. "Now then, I suggest you get yourselves looked at. This has been a rough night."
The next morning, Edward was recovering from his wounds with Alphonse, Wanda, and Pietro on his bedside.
"Did Isaac really have a Philospher's Stone?" Pietro asked. "You sure?"
"Pretty sure." Alphonse said. "He barely sacrificed anything to make that glacier."
"Well, you'll be happy to know that I've been keeping an ear out for anything related to a Philosopher's Stone and what they can do." Wanda said. "Turns out, there's quite a miracle worker in a small town in the desert. Sounds like a promising look."
"All right." Edward said. "What's the name of this place?"
"It's called… Liore."
Blood-red light shined through the windows of a dark room. And Azazel stood with his skin matching the light. He was nervous when he addressed the three figures in front of him. There was a woman with black hair, black lipstick, and a black dress. There was also a very obese man with ginormous hands that was eating from a corpse. Lastly, there was a mutant woman with red hair and blue skin. She wore a white outfit.
"So Isaac is dead." The black-haired woman said in a seductive tone.
"Yes." Azazel replied. "That Philosopher's Stone you gave us didn't last long. Now, he's dead."
"Well, that's disappointing. This would've been a good test." The black-haired woman said. "But a deal's a deal." She reached behind her seat and pulled out a rectangular piece of paper. "Here you go. Your free ticket to Genosha."
Azazel gracefully accepted the ticket. "Thank you." He turned to the blue-skinned woman. "Raven."
"Azazel." The blue woman replied.
"Have a nice life." The other woman said as Azazel prepared to warp out. "And one more thing. When you see Mr. Lensherr, tell him my Father said hello."
Author's Note: This is the last request made by Dracus6 that I'm working on. Sorry this chapter isn't as detailed as the others. I was in a rush for the last few days. I'd appreciate no request for a while. I'm already working on so much stories that I want to see through. Any and all comments are welcome.
