Re: Code Green Interdepartmental Assignment – Success
Optimal results, madam. Your hypothesis is confirmed. Subject 1 is jealous of me! She glared at us all the while I was sitting with Subject 2 on top of the Hill. She thinks I'm trying to steal him. See the attached video from my eye camera for evidence.
As for 2, when I asked him what the two of them get up to with those twigs every day, he said they were drawing the trees. Strange, isn't he? When I tried to draw him out – subtly, of course, you know, the innocent gossip routine – he said, "She's all right," with a straight face, can you believe it? (If he weren't an Aberration, he could be perfect for the IS.) If we didn't know that this is the first time he's shown his artistic streak since before the bombing, and that he shows it to Subject 1 of all people, I would honestly doubt that he feels anything for her at all. But he does, I'm almost positive.
And as for her, I guarantee you, she's even greener with jealousy than her dress was at her Banquet.
About the card game the other night, I had it all under control. I may be a bit out of touch with teenage games after all my years of training, but if that girl had asked me, I would have simply said that I was transferred from Sonoma and that their games were different. It's not like anyone would actually find out.
Please excuse any lack of professionalism in my report. I'm the youngest in my sector after all, and I'm so excited to be working with someone as highly placed as you are. It is my honor to contribute to an experiment that will prove, beyond a doubt, the infallibility of the Matching System. My own Match will be so proud.
Not that he needs to know the details, of course.
Freedom in safety,
L. L.
