Feferi was a 13 years old with braids who, although she was young, knew her destiny. She was born into royalty and was to be the empress and rule the world with an iron fist and blah blah blah blah blah.

Look, she didn't want to be the empress, okay? While there were some perks about it, someday ruling the world and all, she just wanted to be a normal girl and have fun.

That was the day she met Aradia, young peasant girl with beautiful long hair, who had just come into the service of the heiress's family, and although Feferi's parents, the current rulers of the world, treated Aradia poorly, Aradia almost always had a smile on her face.

Aradia had attracted the attention of Feferi. One day, Feferi decided to call Aradia to her private chambers, and asked her why she was smiling so often.

"Well," Aradia said, daringly but playfully pulling on Feferi's braid. "I find it's just, easier, to go by day to day thinking about positive things. It may be a tough job, but it's better than my abusive parents." Aradia's mood slightly damping, but a smile still on her face, "And besides, gotta make money somehow heh."

Feferi giggled, she liked that answer, strangly she felt as though there was a mutual feeling friendship awaiting their future. Feferi just had to ask, "Uh, H-Aradia? Would-would you please be my friend?"

Aradia answered her question by giving her a tackle like hug. "So, uh, I guess that's a yes?" said Feferi half startled the other half happy. "Yes," Aradia started, "I don't really have to many friends so, it couldn't hurt to have another."

"Hey, neither do I," Feferi said, the smile on her face dissipating. "Actually, you're my only friend Aradia"

"Well then, let's be the best of friends," Aradia said, in a succesful attempt to cheer up her new friend. "Forever," finished Feferi. They both laid there for a while, giggling and hugging, you know, girl stuff.

And so, through thick and thin, good times and bad, they were always the best of friends, until one night, on Aradia's 17th birthday, when their friendship blossomed into something far beyond.
