That single word is a mystery to all.
A puzzle waiting to be solved.
A star waiting to shine..
A voice waiting to be heard.
But this single word still keeps me alive, and that word is love.
By the time my letter had gotten to her, I hadn't known she was dumped by blondie.
I simply wanted her to know.
After my face had hit the snow, everything had gone black, and everything in my mind was slowly fading.
My memories.
My memories of my parents. My memories of my mistakes. My memories of my friends….
But one thing hadn't disappeared from my mind.
My memories of my love.
Her gaze, her smile, her voice, her eyes, everything was still there, and had shown no signs of leaving my memory, unlike everything else.
Then all those memories came together, and formed a picture in my mind.
A picture of a blonde haired girl, with a white dress and a smile on her face.
But the main thing that made her stick out the most, was the fact that she was shining in the darkness.
"namine…" I whispered.
My vision was blurring, and my face felt wet, and sticky.
The girl simply smiled, and walked towards me.
She was a few feet away from me, when she said,
"welcome home."
"home?" I replied.
"my real home?"
She smiled again. "no."
She stuck out her hand to me.
"the home where you belong; with me."
Now my faced felt soaked with tears.
I felt so weak, so mortal, so…vulnerable...
I felt like I didn't have the energy to even stick my hand out to her.
"have faith." She said, her hand still sticking out.
"have faith in love."
With those words, my hand stuck to hers like a magnet.
But then, the strangest thing happened; all the darkness had disappeared, and was replaced with a background of a small home.
But the only thing that hadn't disappeared from my, sight, was the image of the girl.
The love of my life.
She was crying next to me.
Now that had shocked me.
No girl..
Had ever cried for me.
I leaned up on the pillow which, apparently, my head had been resting on, and sighed, which caught her attention.
Since she knew I was awake, I wiped her tears, and, for once in a very long time, smiled.
"sorry I made you wait." I said.
Tears flooded her eyes, and she flung her arms around my neck.
"I knew it!" she said between happy sobs.
I looked confused. "knew what?"
She smiled like she did in the darkness.
"I knew your faith in love was strong enough."
I blinked once or twice, then began to laugh.
Now it was her turn to be confused.
I smiled at her, and kissed her forehead.
"you told me before that the light would always guide me home."
She blushed and put her head into my chest.
"and this is where the light is found."
And I could swear, that all the love I had in my heart, even for this one moment, was so warm, it could even melt the snow outside.
