Author's Note: I have some writer's block from The New Humanity right now :(. However these little snippets are not related to each other. They all occur in the movieverse but you might see some references to the games mentioned here.
============================================ The longtime chairman of the Umbrella Corporation held the vial in his right hand. It was a simple glass phial, unmarked with any notations. Strange that it was only a mere month after Dr Issaccs' demise that the answer was here right in front of him. He was alone in the laboratory. That was unusual in and of itself. The science division worked around the clock. Worked to track Project Alice. Worked to cure the T-Virus infection that consumed the earth. Worked for a way to ensave the undead. All of it for nothing.
In the years since the Earth was ravaged from the viral outbreak, Albert Wesker knew that humanity was at its end. At least in this form. Alice's survival proved that to him in a way that no test could ever achieve. Humans were either going to be killed off then turned into biohazards or they would be forced to evolve into something more. Project Alice was proof that evolution had to happen sooner rather than later. Food, water and even ammunition was running low. Some branches were already depleted of their precious stores. Death was what waited for them. They were weak.
What was inside this vial was key. After Alice contacted him via computer, he had the White Queen moved over to the Tokyo facility. She could move again should anything happen here. He had no doubt that Alice would come here. She would bring the clones. How many of those things would come with her, he had no clue. Much of Issaac's work was forged or overlooked in the quest for results.
The White Queen had provided him with the information he required to move the research into a different direction. He would use Project Alice to enhance himself. Tricky, to be sure. To use someone else would carry the threat of them taking Umbrella from him. Who knew if he could replicate the process? He shook his head. Truthfully, he did not want to replicate it. He wanted it for himself. He could be honest here. He was alone. These thoughts were in his head. Not spoken aloud for anyone to hear. He leaned over to a computer station and tapped some keys.
"What do you require Chairman Wesker?" The holographic little girl dressed in white was prompt in answering his summons.
"Stop the security feed into this room." He set the vial down gently as he shrugged off his jacket. The White Queen did as she was told and secured the room. He took his time in removing his shirt. He could not risk a drop of blood being seen by anyone once he left here.
"Are you certain about this course of action?" She stood to his left side. "There is not enough to do this process again if you use that vial now. We should wait-"
"No." He had filled a syringe with the entire contents of the vial. "I will not waste this opportunity." He jabbed it into his forearm then sat down in a nearby chair. "How long?"
She shook her head. "A few moments and the process will start. It is too late to undo it. It is a risk to combine the T-Virus with yourself in a closed facility. You could mutate."
"I think not." Sweat beaded his face. The virus rushed through his system quickly. Far quicker than he had anticipated and it caused him to groan out loud. His head snapped back and slammed into the lab table.
As he lost consciousness, the White Queen accessed some internal files. Project W was on schedule.
