Note: I was thinking about Sam e-mailing Jack when I realised that she would have to be very careful what she said if she sent it to his work e-mail. So I had her send two –one to work and one to his private e-mail account.
Disclaimer: I have had difficulty adding this to my profile so –I do not own them and make no profit from this story, unfortunately.
E-mails
The first e-mail came to work and was very discreet, but he had years of practice reading between the lines, especially at picking out all that she did not say.

Sir,
Following your instructions, I escorted Vala Mal Doran to a number of local retail outlets in order to further her knowledge of differing social norms and customs. It was a profitable excursion and we returned with a variety of resources which I would be happy to show you next time you visit Colorado Springs. We also acquired some items for the upcoming meeting with senior officers.

He smiled and hurried home that evening to read the uncensored version she would have sent to his home e-mail account.

Subject: Vala's shopping expedition
Jack,
Great shopping trip – we did all the clothes shops, including Victoria's Secret (yes, I did and yes, next time I see you).
Vala was an eye opener. Sometimes she acts just as you expect and then she surprises you by doing the exact opposite. As it turns out she was very helpful and remarkably discreet. She managed not to mention your name at all – a few comments like 'I know someone who would like this' was all. It's as she said, she knows about putting on a disguise and the vamp personality is just another disguise. Sometimes I wonder whether she even knows what the real Vala is like anymore. Anyway, she really got into the search for something to wear for an 'informal' lunch with the Joint Chiefs (must be an oxymoron –why, oh why did you get me into this?) Well, once she realised I wasn't looking to shock or seduce them! Once she saw it as a costume she was a real help. I can't remember the last time I had such fun shopping, probably with Janet. Before you put on a hurt expression, might I remind you that last time we went shopping you made me go into a games shop first and then refused to come into any clothes shops apart from Victoria's Secret?
I miss you. You know how hard I find it to put feelings into words and it is even harder to write them down. You'll laugh, but it would be easier if this was paper and pen. I know, but this feels so impersonal somehow.
Hurry back on Friday and I will show you some of my shopping (put those eyebrows down or THAT bag will stay at the back of my wardrobe 'til after you have gone).
Love
Sam x
