I sipped my coffee, savoring the taste; because I knew that when that doorbell rang, my whole peaceful world would crumble. I continued to read my book Pride and Prejudice Zombie version. I hissed in detest. 'This book does no justice whatsoever to the original.' I glanced up to the clock that read two twenty-eight. 'Just a half-hour more, before they come.' I shuddered.

Then that cursed sound rang from the door. I pulled myself up and opened the front door. "Hello? How may I help you?" I asked. There on my front porch was a short, chubby child adorning a type of boy-scouts' outfit. "Hello ma'am, I'm selling cookies for the helpful bear club boy-scouts' badge."

'Was it just me or did he just say 'helpful bear chub'?' "Would you like to buy some cookies?" he asked me with his best wide-eyed look of innocence. I looked at the cookies that were crumbled, and had some sort of weird greenish-yellow sprinkles on the top. I sighed. "Would you please wait here while I get my wallet?" I said.

"Thank you Ma'am!" the chubby child beamed at me. Then, the little merchant raised his right finger, and started to dig into his right nose. I watched as he pulled something greenish-yellow, looked at it, and swallowed it. My stomach churned in nausea. "Um, I don't think I'm really hungry for cookies anymore." "But, Ma'am!" "SLAM"

I walked back to the couch, and turned on the television. I glanced at the time again. It was two forty-five. I turned my attention back to the television screen, and watched Top Chef for the remaining hour. I cringed inside when I heard the doorbell ring. I opened the door, and my three children walked in. "Hey Mom, what are we having for dinner?" my oldest son Junior asked. "I have ravioli already warmed up on the counter. And, remember to wash your hands."

"We already did, Mom."

'My three kids Junior, Kairi, and Inuyasha, they aren't perfect, but they're not picking their noses on my watch.'
