"I hate you!" Nudge screamed at me. "Nudge" I pleaded. "No Iggy! You've gone too far this time! She yelled. She was easily a foot shorter than me but I could feel her eyes piecing me and the heat of her anger burnt me. I heard her turn away from me and run off. I reached out to grab her hand and stop her but I was left reaching for air looking like the blind idiot that I am. I was a teenage boy, 15 to be exact, with normal teen problems, but to make it worse I am a freak with wings, oh and I'm blind. My life is pretty miserable and one of the best things, maybe THE best thing, in my life just screamed that she hated me. I walked up the stairs to Nudge's room. "Nudge" I begged knocking on the door. "Go away" she whispered, her voice breaking. Great, I made her cry. Way to go Iggy. "Please Nudge, I didn't mean it, I swear" I begged. "Sure Iggy, you didn't mean to let it slip that my face is the reason you went blind. I knew I was ugly, but that was uncalled for" she sobbed. "Nudge you have to believe me when I say I didn't mean it like that" I said. I hadn't meant to say it outloud either. "Whatever Iggy" she sniffed. I sighed, it was now or never. "Do you want to hear how I really became blind?" I asked softly. I heard her sniff then get up and unlock her door. Without saying anything she went and sat on her bed and I followed her and sat down next to her. "So you know how no one knows how it really happened? Well I guess it's time you found out" I sighed. "Well when we were at the school they were thinking about trying new experiments on us. When I was about 8 and you were about 5 they decided to try and enchant our eyesight. They needed a guinea pig though, someone to test it on first. Max and Fang were too important, Gazzy was just a baby and Angel wasn't born yet. They thought I might be of importance so they picked you. As kids you were my bestfriend. M ycage was in between yours and Fang, and we all know what a great talker he is. Even though I was only 8, I knew you were the best thing that would ever happen to me. You were so beautiful Nudge. Your beautiful brown eyes and gorgeous smile. I loved you. So when they came for youI kicked and screamed until they had no choice but to take me instead. Your face was the last thing I ever saw. The next time I opened my eyes, I saw nothing, but it was worth it" I whispered. It was silent for a minute as Nudge swallowed the truth. It continued to be silent and my heart sunk as Irealized I probably just blew it, that she didn't feel the same way, my love was mute. All of a sudden I felt the bed move and Nudge moved closer and kissed me. "Thank you Iggy. I love you too" she whispered and I kissed her back.
