Forbidden Lips

Optimus sighed.

"What's wrong, Optimus?" Sam asked.

"Oh, nothing, Sam."

"No come on, out with it."

"Well you see…I think I'm gay."

Sam didn't talk for a while, Optimus stared at him, scared that Sam wouldn't approve. He finally spoke. "That's fine by me, Optimus."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"Thank you, Sam."

"You're very welcome."

Bumblebee revved his engine as a sign of impatience; Sam got up and ran to his car. Optimus looked as they drove away. Then he transformed into his truck form and went for a drive so he could think.

Sam and Bumblebee arrived home where Mikaela waited for them.

"About time. What have you been up to?"

"I was with Optimus."

"Ah boys and their toys." She muttered as Sam led Mikaela to the Garage.

They wiled away the evening with Bumblebee. At ten, Mikaela left to go home. Optimus still in truck form was waiting in front of Sam's house. Intrigued, she climbed into the passenger seat and Optimus drove off to a deserted Construction yard. Mikaela got out so Optimus could transform.

"I need to talk to you."

"I gathered. What's on your mind?"

"This is going to sound weird but, I think I'm in love with Sam."

Mikaela stared up at Optimus with round eyes. "My Sam?"

"I'm afraid so."

"I see."

"What do you think I should do? Tell him, or not tell him? I don't know."

"I think you should do what you think is right."

Optimus deliberated for a moment. "Thank you, Mikaela."

Optimus transformed again and took Mikaela home. The next day, he met up with Sam.

"I have to talk to you."

"Ok."

"I'm…in love with you."

"Optimus…"

"I know, I know. It will never happen. I know that."

"I'm sorry."

"It's Ok."

Sam climbed up to Optimus's face and gave him a single kiss on the big, robotic lips.

"Thank you." Optimus whispered, gently stroking Sam's face. And they spent the afternoon sat by each other's side. They were happy just sitting in silence. A love that never could be, a love that never would be. But Optimus vowed that he would protect Sam even more than he already did. And he stuck to his word.
