"Grandpa? Grandpa!" A red-headed girl yelled as she shook a lifeless figure on the floor of her home. "Help! Someone! Please!"
She ran outside into the cold rain of Kakariko Village. All of the people from Hyrule Castle Town had moved to this once small village since it had burned. She scanned the dark night, looking everywhere. Tears and rain mixed on her face, so neither one could be told apart.
"Help! Help!" She ran up the hard steps to the ladder of the watch tower. She climbed up quickly, and dunked under a tarp stretched over the lookout tower. A man was sitting under the covered area with a telescope, looking around the seemingly quiet town.
"Sir. Help! My Grandpa is hurt! Please! Come on!" She pulled on his hand, and they started down the ladder, and then the steps.
Chickens were scurrying about, making their feathers matted in the hard rain. She started kicking them around, and sneezing horribly. "Go home! Get back inside the pen!" She was allergic to them, but had to raise them for eggs to make money.
She looked back to the guard and said, "This way! Just in front of the Graveyard! Where the Cucoo pen is!" She grabbed his hand, and they ran into her warm home.
"Oh dear." The guard said after he took of his dripping coat and handed it to the girl. "This doesn't look very good."
The guard grabbed the old man's wrist and felt for his pulse. He looked up at the girl and shook his head: "I am sorry. He is dead. There is nothing we can do for him now. Are you his only living relative?"
"Yes, that I am aware of. My Grandma died before I was born."
"What about your parents?"
"Dead. As far as I know. I never met them."
"What is his and your name dear? It will have to go on the death papers and the tombstone."
"He is Edwanon Talam. I am Analyn Selina Talam."
The guard picked up the old man and covered him with his coat. He said to Analyn, "Come to the Graveyard just after dawn tomorrow. Then the ceremony will begin. Try to sleep well Analyn. Goodnight." He tipped his hat and walked into the rain.
