Prologue-

An eye opens. It sees everything around it: up above are the tall trees swaying in the wind, casting the shadows of which the sun, climbing into it's place in the bright blue sky, is creating; then, as the eye's owner gets up off of the dirt-covered ground, sees the twigs and leaves and branches which have fallen upon it. There might be a white shoe hanging on a branch far off, and on another a silver glint that could be a pair of handcuffs. Perhaps there's someone else making their way through this jungle.
He takes it all in.

Until, that is, he hears something rustling in some bushes nearby.

He looks carefully and finds out that it is just a cursios dog sniffing around. No harm in that...except that this dog seems familiar. The boy begins to walk towards it, but is distracted by something else he thinks he recognizes. Is it screaming? Is someone screaming his name, calling for him? Worried, anxious, and hopeful all at once, he hurries to that sound.

But as he gets closer, he slows to a walk, and his previous emotions leave him. As he walks onto the beach, passing those who are not screaming for help or getting stuck under plane wreckage but instead getting tans and playing volley ball, he hangs his head down. Walt wishes with all his heart that he could go back.
