Bam! The sound echoed as my axe hit the wood block. Armin sat behind me reading while I was cutting the wood for HQ as ordered by Levi.
I set down another block of wood and readied my axe "Hey Eren?" Armin interrupted me mid-swing and I missed the block, hitting my axe into the ground beside it instead. "What Armin?" I turned to face him.
"I-I was just gonna say how, you'd never do this much back when..." He stopped. "Back when what, Armin?" I asked.
"B-Back when we... when we still had families..." He looked at the ground. I sighed and sat on the wood block I missed and looked past my feet at the ground.
"I was... younger then. We both were. I never would have thought that running family errands and chores would have seemed so... distant" I looked back up at him.
"But when Captain Levi tells you to... go out and chop wood or, do the dishes... you... do them." He looked up at me and our eyes met. "I," I paused for a second "I know better now Armin, I really do"
"I know!" He yelled back at me.
"..." I just stared at him in disbelief. He looked away in embarrassment.
"Armin wha-"
"But why," Armin cut me off. "Why him or even Mikasa? Why can't you listen to me for once or something?"
I got up "Fine! Just this once, okay Armin? Command me!"
"W-what?!"
He was shocked from my sudden outburst. "You heard me Armin. Give me commands. For today only I'll listen to you and no-one else. So... Command me however you want... okay?"
He looked me straight in the eyes "Y-yeah... Fine! Okay!"
"..." I looked straight at him.
"Meet me at the stables later tonight at 23:00 (11pm)"
"Wait... that late?!"
"Y-yeah, that late. Got a problem with it?!" He firmly stated
"N-no," I paused and thought about how direct he was being and realized he was still waiting for a proper answer
"OH! Uh, NO! Not a problem. No problems here, Sir!" He looked me in the eye
"Now when, Eren, will you meet me?" I saluted out of habit and quickly responded with
"23:00 at the stables, Sir!"
He saluted back. "Good, see you then, Eren"
He then turned around, grabbed his book and started walking back to HQ.
I waited till he was out of view till I stopped saluting and let out a sigh.
I wonder what he has planned... At 23:00 no less...
I looked back at the wood block on the ground and decided to get back to work or else Levi would kill me before I even saw dinner.
I grabbed the axe, still in the ground, only to find that it wouldn't budge from it spot, damn, now what do I do since, apparently, the axe is now Thor's hammer?
Do I go titan and break the rest of the wood blocks with my hands? No, that's stupid.
Ugh, just one more issue to add to the pile... literally.
