It's so early on a Monday that the sun has yet to come out, but that doesn't stop Mamoru from putting on sweats to start his training in small area behind his home. From judo throws to karate strikes, he's been diligently training for years. After a few hours, he comes back from a run and heads for the back alley then climbs into a third story window. In and out of a shower, Mamoru readies for his actual day... as a cook in a newly opened ramen shop.

"Looking angry as always." said a small figure, later letting out a big yawn.

"Good morning to you too, Hachi." he says in a monotoned voiced as he dries off his jet black hair.

He throws his towel on Hachi and quickly dons a navy blue chef's uniform.

"Hey!" Hachi yells, trying to find her way out.

Mamoru has been around Hachi for 2 years and all he managed to gather is that she is a Kwami with birdlike features. Her purpose was simply summarized to that of a guide for the bearer of the Miraculous.

"Are you finally going to tell me why I was chosen for this, also... why are we in Paris!?" Mamoru raises his voice, poking a finger at Hachi's beak.

"Easy now, I'll just say that evil is afoot and you are the hero that... ow ow ow!" Hachi sounded smug at first, but soon felt the pain of having two large knuckles grind against both sides of her head.

"Can you just answer my question? I had to spend a whole year learning French and somehow convince my grandparents to move the shop to this place." he said with a fake smile and a vein popping in his forehead.

"I..in good time, partner. S..so please stop." Hachi pleads before being released, rubbing her head with a tear in her eyes.

"Geez... I expect an explanation today, but for now I need to get the restaurant ready. If your hungry, there's still some tea snacks in my drawer." Mamoru tells her as he pats her head.

Heading down to the first floor, Mamoru is greeted by his grandparents who were still shaky with the French language.

"Good morning, Mamoru. Are you ready for the official opening of the shop?" The grandmother asks.

"Of course, obachan."

"Haaa, to think you wanted to share the flavors of this family's cooking this far across the globe... your parents would be proud." The grandfather says almost tearing up. Of course this puts a nervous smile on Mamoru's face.

All three of them then turn towards a small shrine in the corner of the shop and pray.

Though a ramen shop was a rare sight to see in Paris, Mamoru was kept busy until closing time. His grandparents insisted he retire early for the day as business was good. After walking up to the third floor, he sees Hachi sleeping soundly on his pillow with crumbs on her face. Without warning, he falls face first into his bed launching her into the air.

"Whoooa! Ah, Mamoru, how was work?" She asks while floating in the air.

"Busy. Anyway, where's my answer?" Mamoru's voice was a little muffled from his face being in a pillow, but Hachi could understand him.

"Oh right, well, you're not so much fighting evil... you're more like hunting down those who use Miraculouses."

"Hunt?"

"We're what you would considered an anomaly. We're neither good or evil. Your Miraculous in particular has traits that relies on your fair judgement."

"I don't really care about good or evil."

"And that's why I chose you for the Honey Badger Miraculous! This Miraculous is however very rarely used, so it wouldn't be a surprise if the current guardian or the guardian before them knew about it. But anyway we need to recover the jewels. "

"Why exactly?"

"Well turns out those who currently hold them are unqualified and it's up to us to recover them. After that we find a new guardian to look over them. I can feel the two most dangerous ones being used, so we must hurry."

"And they're all in Paris?"

"Yep!"

"Well let's get this over with."

"W..well."

"What?"

"I can't really pinpoint them, so until they show themselves we can't really do much." Hachi shrugs her shoulders, but then comes face to face with an angry teenager.

"Not living up to whole Honey Guide thing, huh?"

"I... I did find them in Paris, soooo... I'm sorry, Mamoru! Don't take my snacks away!" Hachi cries, grabbing his sleeve.

"Stop crying already, I agreed to help a long time ago remember? Something will come up tomorrow." Mamoru says, patting her head some more.

Soon she falls asleep leaving Mamoru to himself. The night was still young, therefore more training would be had. He already activated his Miraculous before, but as far as actually putting it to use, he has no experience. That's why training was the only way to ensure everything was going to go as planned. He goes for another run and ends up running past an electronics store with televisions broadcasting the very ones who was meant to track down.

"Maybe I should get a phone... Dang it, Hachi, you better be faster than these news crews when it comes to finding them."
