My Favorite Sound
A late afternoon glow had begun to filter through the lightly curtained windows. Blankets lay untouched at the foot of the bed. Silence rang through the room. Hours passed as they lay wrapped in each other's arms.
Albus traced a long, slender finger across Minerva's jawbone and followed it with kisses. She blew gently against his arm, watching as the small goosebumps arose on his skin. Lips and fingertips softly caressed, arms intertwined tightly.
Albus gently stroked Minerva's long, flowing hair as she nuzzled her head upon his chest and, closing her eyes, smiled contently as she listened to his heartbeat.
"What are you doing?" he asked with a chuckle.
"Shh," she said, placing a finger against her lips without opening her eyes.
"This is my favorite sound."
