Better Than Revenge

Our story starts when it was hot and it was summer and, I had it all I had him right there where I wanted him….

Hermione thought back to the summer. They hadn't started their sixth year yet. Ron was happy, Hermione was happy, and together they laughed away the summer days until Harry arrived at the Burrow to make their duo a trio. As much as Hermione loved Harry (he was her best friend after all), she wished he had stayed away for just a little bit longer.

She came along got him alone and then to the applause, She took him faster than you can say sabotage…

Then came along that stupid bimbo, Lavender Brown. She had taken no interest in Ron at all, not until he became some huge Quidditch hero, winning the game for Gryffindor. What was with all of these girls, only interested in the jocks, and all of the guys, only interested in the girls who dressed a certain way, and overdid their hair and makeup, and slept around?

I never saw it coming, wouldn't have suspected it, I underestimated just who I was dealing with, She had to know the pain was beating on me like a drum…

Of course, Hermione had realized at the beginning of the year that Lavender was interested in Ron, but it was only because he had gotten taller, and filled out, and extremely handsome, and then on top of that he had made the Gryffindor Quidditch team, but Hermione had no idea that Lavender would go so far as to actually attack Ron after the game and stick her tongue down his throat! And even more so, Hermione would have never thought Ron would have liked it! Lavender knew from games of Truth or Dare over the first five years at Hogwarts that Hermione had a crush on Ron; they had been dorm mates! They shared nearly all of their deepest, darkest secrets (even if that was only because of the mouthfuls of veritaserum they drank before they played). How could she do something this mean to someone who was considered a friend?

She underestimated just who she was stealing from…

Lavender should have known Hermione wouldn't have taken to this new arrangement well. Hermione smirked to herself, thinking about the flock of yellow birds pelting towards Ron. The scratches marring his features annoyed Lavender, which felt almost as good as the pain Hermione knew they caused Ron. And then, they were magical cuts, so there was nothing Madame Pomfrey could do to heal them, another fact Hermione liked to think about often.

Hermione wasn't usually this mean, but there was something about Ron that brought the worst out in her.

She's not a saint and she's not what you think she's an actress, Whoa, And she's better known for the things that she does on the mattress, Whoa…

Ron would soon find out what Lavender was really like: shallow, spoiled, and fake. The only thing that worried Hermione was how far Lavender would suck Ron in before he realized what she was actually like. Hermione brushed the thought away; just thinking about the things Lavender would be willing to do made her want to cry.

Soon she's gonna find stealing other people's toys on the playground won't make you many friends, She should keep in mind, she should keep in mind, there is nothing I do better than revenge…

Both of them would be sorry that they had ever messed with Hermione Granger by the time she was through. She had a plan forming in the back of her mind about what she could do to make Ron jealous, and only one question remained…

Zacharias Smith, or Cormac McClaggen?
