And you can see it in his eyes – he didn't expect you to give up without a fight. But it's better this way – it's better than pretending that everything's alright, 'cause it's not, and it's never going to be. And you know you say that every time something happens, and that it always ends up being not 'all right', but 'alright'. Not this time, because it wasn't angels and demons, it was just you. And you betrayed him. And the guilt and shame are too much for anything to ever be alright again.
