"I will not sit on the steps," Jade said, "You go sit on the steps for telling me to go sit on the steps"
"That doesn't even make any sense," Beck said
"You don't make sense," Jade said.
"You're a brat," Beck retorted, "Can't you ever just listen to me without arguing?"
"I did once," Jade said, "When you got mad at me and never again am I going to allow that!"
"I really didn't give you much choice in the matter," Beck said.
"You want to know how to get me to be nice," Jade said, "Kiss me"
"What?"
"Kiss me. In fact kiss me right now"
Beck smirked.
"Gladly," he said leaning in to kiss her
I knew if I got caught I would be in serious trouble. I knew there could be serious consequences but Charlotte just got Lily and I would not let her lose her.
"Charlotte," I said, "I can't act like I know you in court. I have to play it up as if you're not my friend and just a stranger. Do you understand why?"
"Because you're not supposed to take the cases of your friends," Charlotte said.
"Right," I replied.
"Do you want to come with us for dinner," I asked Charlotte.
She called Harry and he said that he would meet them in the restaurant. I got on the phone and filled him in.
"I owe you one Miranda," he said
"I'll be sure to not collect," I said, "We're friends. Friends don't play tit for tat"
