Well, I never thought it would happen, but here I am posting fanfiction again after a 3 year haitus. Will wonders never cease? Anyhoo, this is a fic whose authorship will alternate between myself and my dear friend Eli, so I will be sure to let you know whose chapter you are about to read. (This one is mine.) This is just something that we started to keep our sanity during Consumer Education class, so don't take it too seriously. Just a bit of fun- better than learning how to fill out tax forms, anyway!

Last notes: this is completely AU, yes I just omitted Peter Pettigrew because I felt like it, and I am fully aware that Lucius Malfoy is older than Severus and the Marauders, but I never made any claims that this was canon, so deal with it! Alright, I'll stop babbling now and just let you read the magical monstrosity that is: DAYDREAM OF DOOM!

Chapter 1

Whispers and glances flew all around the Great Hall on the night of the start of term feast- even more than usual, that is to say. The cause of all the extra gossip was very easily located: two witches seated at the Gryffindor table. Though they were sixth years, their Hogwarts robes were new and their hats fresh. They were... the transfer students.

"Can you believe they both got into Gryffindor?"

"Do they know each other?"

"No, one's from Scotland, I think."

"Wow, really?"

"I heard one of them got kicked out of her last school for hexing a teacher."

"Well I heard one of them got expelled for doing an Unforgivable Curse!"

"She'd be in Azkaban right now if she did that, stupid!"

"Oh, right."

Listening to the idle conversation whizzing around them, three good-looking fellows at the Gryffindor table glanced around at each other.

"What do you think, blokes? Shall we give it a try?" the one with shaggy brown hair queried his companions. The other two nodded and with that they rose as one to fill the empty space around the new girls.

Two tables away, another set of eyes was intently surveying the action.

"Ah, there they go," a boy with white-blonde hair said bitterly, throwing down his turkey leg. "I know they'd be over there quick as you please. Dirty buggars. Real pity they weren't sorted into Slytherin, they're not bad looking, you know. Turn around Severus, you haven't even seen them yet! Honestly…"

With a narrowed glance at his companion, a pale boy with lank, greasy black hair tore himself from his dinner and turned to look at the new girls. He could only see one of them, but it was enough to set his heart pounding. Whatever the other girl looked like, it didn't matter. Wiping his suddenly dampened palms on the tops of his thighs he turned back around, managing to keep his face blank, and gave a noncommital shrug. His light-haired friend snorted.

"Well a ruddy lot you know then," he said, taking a deep draught of pumpkin juice from his goblet. "No, my friend, I think this should be a very interesting year…" The dark-haired boy scowled, but silently agreed. Little did they know, oh so little did they know…

Alright, reviews! But please don't flame- I just can't take that kind of rejection...
