Doll on a Music Box
When Tulip was born everyone agreed she was ment to be a dancer. She was showered with pretty dresses and ballet shoes. She lived in Lozzla, a large city. She had her first major show when she was two years old. She was born to dance. On her thirteenth birthday a mysterious woman give her a music box when she was at the theatre. The was no key and the box didn't open. Tulip believed that the music box gave her good luck. She had tryed and tryed to open it but it would never open. She danced and danced until finally she was named the best ballerina in Lozzla.
Four years later Tulip was standing in her dressing room at Lozzla theatre. She appraised herself in the mirror. She was wearing a stapless Sparkled red dress that came down to just above her knees. Her jet black hair was in a glittering bun on the back of her head. It was her seventeenth birthday and her fortyninth major performance. She felt nervous as she tightened the red ribbons of her shoes.
Tulip couldn't help but glance at the music box in the corner. Sometimes she felt that something was watching her out of the keyhole. She pushed that thought away as she ran her fingers along the varnished wooden box. A young boy around thirteen or forteen years old poked his head into the dressing room.
"Miss Tulip, You're on" he said excitedly.
Tulip smoothed her dress and walked to the stage door. She stepped into the backstage passage and looked at the boy. He was wearing a shirt exactly the same shade of red as her dress.
"Are you dancing tonight?" she asked
"Yeah it's my first performance" he said excitedly.
Just then Tulip was hurrided to the stage. She turned back to the boy.
"Good luck!" she called as she stepped onto the stage.
Tulip jumped and twirled as the crowd cheered. This was natural, like riding a bike. She danced and danced and with one last pirouette and leap she finished. The crowd clapped and cheered. Tulip took a bow and walked off of the stage.
