Chapter 1 -
Danielle Gonzo, a 20 year old college student that lives in an apartment near campus with her two best friends, was walking down a road on a dark night. It just so happened to be a full moon as well.
As she was admiring the cloudy dark sky, she couldn't help but glance at a alleyway she never saw before.
The alleyway was pretty thin and had appeared there like magic. Now, she walked this sidewalk all the time and knew the alleyway was never there before this night.
Stopping and squinting a little, she could see a door at the end and what looked like a shop sign.
Glancing around, she shrugged and headed down towards the door.
"Looks like a older place." Danielle muttered, wondering why it had suddenly appeared.
Looking at the sign on the door, now that she was closer, she saw it was 'open' and slowly put her hand on the doorknob.
Peaking inside, she quickly noted the dusty and cobwebbed books and other old trinkets.
"Hello?" She called out as she walked inside and shut the door. 'This place reminds me of that 'The Haunting Hour' special from a few years back.' She thought to herself.
"Who is there!?" A voice said suddenly, making her jump.
Turning towards the voice, she saw a older guy walk through a doorway and approach her.
"Uh…hi…" She stuttered and looked around. "What is this place?"
"Are you a fan of Goosebumps?" The man asked, ignoring the question.
"What?" Danielle asked, confused. "I mean…yeah. Since I was a kid I was a huge fan of 'Goosebumps' and later 'The Haunting Hour.' But what do
they-" She was cut off.
"I have something you might like." The man turned and started to walk towards a chest.
"What?" Dani said, even more confused. "You didn't….is that…?"
"The evil dummy himself?" The man gave a creepy smile.
"Yeah…" Dani smiled. "He was my favorite monster from the books and show. That's awesome you have a dummy that looks like him."
"Would you like to keep him?" He asked.
"Really?" Danielle questioned. "How much?"
"How much do you have on you?" The man asked, holding out his hand.
"Like $20." She took it out and immediately grabbed it.
"Sold." He put the money in his pocket and shut the chest.
After shutting it, he picked it up and almost threw it at her.
"Now get out." The shop owner rushed her out the door. "We're closed now." As he shut the door, he flipped the sign, leaving Danielle even more confused then she already was.
"That was odd…" She muttered. "But I got a Slappy like Dummy now. Cool." She smiled and headed out of the alley.
About 15 minutes later, she walked inside her apartment and found her two best friends sitting on the couch, watching TV.
"Hey, guys." Danielle said as shut the door and carried Slappy inside.
"Hey…what's that?" Fae asked, looking at the chest.
"Yah know Goosebumps right? This is a Slappy the Dummy look-alike." Danielle replied, setting the chest down and taking Slappy out.
"Whoa! Cool!" Bek said, getting up and coming over.
"Looks like the real deal." Fae added.
"I know right." I said and noticed the little card. "Even has the little card with that spell on it."
Jokingly, I then said it out loud, figuring nothing would go wrong.
"Huh. That's awesome." I finished and put it back in his jacket's pocket.
"You sure that was a good idea?" Fae asked.
"Why not? Not like he's actually alive or anything." I shrugged as Slappy sat on my lap.
"I guess." Fae said, staring at him.
"Actually I think I'm going to go watch some episodes now. Been a while since I saw any of the episodes." I stood up and put Slappy back in his box.
"You do that." Bek said as I picked Slappy's chest up.
"I'll be in my room if you need me." I replied walking out of the living room.
"See yah." Fae said and I said goodbye back.
