Flash Hats and Onesies
The Flash Hat
Barry Allen was still getting used to the fact that the Flash was now a public figure and no longer just an urban legend. He found it disconcerting that his lightning bolt insignia was now recognized by every resident of Central City. Even weirder still was the merchandise. He hadn't minded the t-shirts, the action figures and toys were sweet.
But one item of Flash merchandise in particular caught Barry's attention, the Flash hat
Obviously with winter starting to creep into Central City many stores were beginning to start stocking up on winter woollies. Barry had been just browsing when he noticed a red flappy hat. He picked it up and realized that it had a design of his mask on the front. Feeling a little confused Barry put back the hat and thought no more of it. He thought no more about the Flash Hat that is apart from telling Joe, and Jay, and Cisco, and Catlin, and Iris.
Next time it was cold in Central City and Barry was walking with Iris to Jitters he mentioned the Flash Hat again. Several times thereafter, when he was with Iris, Barry would mention the Flash Hat. Iris was unsure if Barry even knew that this had started to become a thing but she knew for certain that he was going to have that hat.
A few days later Barry noticed a parcel sat on his desk in the lab. From the way it had been wrapped it was obviously from Iris. Barry tore open the paper and found inside the Flash Hat.
Barry wore the Flash Hat throughout all of that winter in Central City. The rest of 'Team Flash' found his affection for the Flash Hat hilarious. Everyone else just assumed he was a big fan of the Flash.
This hat is a real piece of official licensed DC Merchandise. There's a picture of the hat as the cover on this story, they're available on Amazon as well. I own one and it's awesome and I couldn't help but wonder what Barry would make of it.
