The Truth Hurts
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the canon characters; they belong to Marvel and Stan Lee, may he rest in peace. Based on the drabble prompt: "Why did you spare me?" Dedicated to my amazing FanFiction sister Rival Argentica who has supported me for nearly three years now! THREE YEARS, RIVAL ARGENTICA! It hasn't felt like that short or long of a time; I feel like I've known you forever, but I also feel like that I just met you not long ago, if that makes any sense. Anyway, this story, my 101st, is dedicated to you, my dear friend and Soul Sister from the other side of the world! I hope you all enjoy!

Thanos has been surprised in the past, but never has the purple Titan been taken aback. That all changes when his prize pupil, his Gamora, comes into the throne room, her brown eyes filled with rage.
"Why did you spare me?" she demands, her signature blade securely sheathed on her belt.
"I do not understand the question, little one," Thanos admits, dismissing all of his servants with one raise of his massive hand. "Spare you from what?" he asks, rising from his throne and getting closer to his daughter.
"You spared me out of everyone on my planet! Why?" Gamora shouts, desperation present in her voice.
"You were not afraid of me. Plenty of children have trembled at the sight of me," Thanos recalls, thinking back to that day fifteen years ago when he made Gamora his newest daughter. "You showed such courage and potential at a young age, little one," he truthfully answers, and Gamora's face switches to one of pure horror.
"You slaughtered my mother behind me and spared my life because of my potential?! I will never stop hating you!" Gamora shouts with tears in her eyes as she storms out.
"Wipe her memory," Thanos forcefully commands.

I hope you all have an amazing day, afternoon, or night! Until next time, my dear readers!
