A/N Greetings readers, Purpose is my first fanfiction and I would appreciate it if your would leave some comments, criticisms and suggestions in a review. I will be uploading at least one chapter per week, but probably more. The story will be about the main characters adventures in the Thieves Guild and Skyrim. The story will contain events and characters in the game, as well as many of my own :) (and no, the main character isn't the Dragonborn :P)
Chapter One: Caught
The sun had only just started casting sunbeams through the tree branches when the Redguard woman began to hunt. She prowled slowly over the melting snow covering Pine Forest. Although the temperature was beginning to rise, the woman was still shivering; she was not used to such frigidness back in Hammerfall. She stopped before a felled tree trunk and surveyed the area ahead of her. The ground was flat, only dipping down about twenty metres in front of her. It was covered by wet snow with creeping snowberries and mountain flowers growing beside the many towering pine trees. The sight had made her feel homesick and she continued to stare abstractedly in front of her until something had moved out of the corner of her eye.
It was exactly what she needed to keep herself warm. She steadily moved to a better position to kill the animal with her bow. She crouched behind a small boulder and began to silently ready her Mother's bow. She stared at the animal; an old wolf, his face scrawny, sitting alone. It was merely staring blindly at the forest before him, just like the Redguard did moments ago; except she knew that she was being hunted. She aimed carefully, aiming for the harmless beast's heart. I can use the pelt for some warmth, the meat for dinner tonight and I can gather some of the snowberries to craft a couple of potions to sell if I come across a merchant, she shot would be challenging with the cold wind blowing strong, but the woman knew she could make the shot if she took her time. If I don't rush, I can achieve anything. That was her philosophy. Just before she had released her arrow a commanding shout erupted from the forest, "Lay down your weapons, son's of Skyrim!"
The wolf ran away, no longer willing to fight, just like the Redguard woman. She stood up instantly, Oh Satakal, there is a battle nearby! She began to run back to her campsite to get her supplies. When she got to the camp, she began stuffing everything important into her small backpack; provisions, potions and, of course, her Father's ring. When she was about to leave she looked inside her backpack once more to be sure she had everything she needed, and that is when she was struck upon her head.
