Your heart is growing heavy in my hands;
I'm not sure if I can hold it any more.
You're far away in a distant land,
How I wish it was still like before.
While we drifted we were one;
I can still feel your hand in mine.
Your smile was like a thousand suns;
When you grinned how your eyes shined.
A friend once told me never to love,
And maybe his advice was right;
My soul is lost away and above,
Far across the night.
But I know, when I come to my end,
I'll only be loving you more.
Because my dear, my love, my friend -
Better a broken heart than no heart at all.
