Hi y'all! I'm not new to the fandom or to writing fanfic, but I'm new to writing fanfic for this fandom! This is my take on the cheating storyline with Wade and Zoe. This will be a relatively short story with a few parts, and I have another longer story half-written that I'll be posting soon! I love these two, and this show!

Disclaimer: I don't own Hart of Dixie. If I did, it'd probably be the Wade Kinsella show.

Wade woke up from the pain of a pounding headache, made worse by the sunlight streaming through the windows. He couldn't remember the last time he nursed a hangover, let alone one this bad. If Wade Kinsella could do anything right, it was holding his alcohol.

How much did he drink last night? Everything was black—he couldn't even remember what day it was, and trying to figure it out wasn't helping his headache any. Groaning, he stretched his muscular arm, sliding across the sheet to pull Zoe's body closer to his.

Wade frowned when he was met with cool sheets, and when his brain caught up to the feeling under his hand, he sat up quickly, the world spinning around him. These weren't fancy imported thousand count thread sheets or whatever Zoe explained that one day when she was barely dressed (I mean come on, was he really expected to pay attention to her talking about sheets when she was only wearing his shirt?)

Rubbing his hands over his closed eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose, Wade inhaled deeply before sucking it up and opening his eyes. His heart was pounding and he felt his stomach drop.

He had no idea where he was.

This wasn't his pace and this sure as hell wasn't Zoe's, he realized quickly, as he noticed the cowboy boots and hats, and pink walls that he definitely didn't paint.

What the hell happened last night? Wade quickly glanced down at his left ring finger, and let out a small sigh of relief that there wasn't a wedding ring on it. He didn't need a repeat of the Tansy situation.

Tansy. Battle of the Bands. George. Wade's Place. Zoe. Lots and lots of alcohol.

Everything came back to him in an instant and he leaned over the bed and threw up all over the wall-matching pink rug. Wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, he realized what happened. He left the bar with a woman last night. A woman who wasn't Zoe Hart. But beyond leaving the threshold of the bar, everything else remained a complete blank. He couldn't remember a thing.

Pulling himself back into a sitting position, he sucked in a deep breath and lifted the pink sheet up off his lower half. Finding what he feared was true, Wade had never felt worse in his life. Completely naked in another woman's bed, Wade realized that he had committed the one act that Zoe would never forgive him for. He had just lost the only person that ever meant anything to him. The girl he loved.

A/N: Please leave a review! It's only short because it's the prologue. I'm usually long-winded!
