A/N: This is my first Grim Fandango poem and actually my first fan-poem so
I'd appreciate any constructive criticism. (If anyone out there actually
reads it that is.) Oh yeah and the line in quotes is taken directly from
the game and is therefore not mine.
She Sailed Away
Glistened by the moon, she moved with a glide,
And engulfed, I watched her under the endless array of stars
And for a brief moment, I felt that the world was ours,
Could that possibly last?
The peace of the night breeze swept us away
Into a small, quiet paradise of our own
Where the moon always seemed to have shone,
Would it possibly last?
While in the middle of the sublime moments we shared
The Sea of Lament whispered in my ear
That we were soon arriving to the pier,
Should I let it last?
Though I felt a sense of loss, I had to let her go
And as I watched her in my discomfort
"I waved to her from the docks as she sailed out of port"
The S.S. Lamancha.
A/N: I know it's kind of weird but I just love Velasco and he did love that
ship... lol. Plus I noticed that there aren't any other fics or poems about
him here. Oh and if my poem sucks I really want to know... lol. Thanks.
