Spoilers: Deathly Hallows
Pairing: Remus/Sirius, Lily/James
Summary: It became their tradition to see them off.
Completed: July 24, 2007
Notes: Um. It's all because of Sirius really.

"They're boarding the train!" A woman's voice filled the space around them.
"I still can't believe he named his son Severus," James sulked, as he had for the last eleven years.
"Albus Severus," Remus offered with a clap on the back.
"Still…if that kid gets put into Slytherin I'll –."
"You'll what James Potter?!" Lily came into focus, casting a disappointed glare at her husband.
"Nothing," he grumbled."

"OY! There's Teddy. Still no sign of the wolf," Remus let out the breath he held every year. Just in case.
"He's off snogging Bill's daughter again," James chuckled, elbowing Remus in the side.
"He's not a werewolf, he's off snogging girls," Sirius squinted, "Are you sure he's your son Moony?"
James laughed harder at the glares that were coming from both Lily and Remus.
"Opps, looks like I've upset the women," Sirius whispered to his best friend. "Of course he's yours mate," he spoke louder to Remus, "I should know, I've seen you both naked."
"SIRIUS!" Lily shrieked, her mortification clear.
Remus just shook his head, "Sometimes Padfoot, I don't know why I still put up with you."
Sirius put an arm around Remus, "Because you love me." It was the plain, simple answer.
"I must be mad," he couldn't fight the smile that tugged at his lips.
"Daft," Sirius smirked, leaning in –
"Hey! The train's moving!" James called out at them, breaking them apart. He'd seen enough of that the last nineteen years too. He could use this one moment as a break.

The four stood in silence as they watched the red Hogwarts Express pull out of the station and swerve through the country-side. Grandchild, godchildren and family, all tucked safely inside.

"Oh-," Lily's breath caught in her throat as she spotted Harry on the platform, he had followed the train as it chugged away.
"He's getting on in years, isn't he?" Sirius quipped, trying to ignore the pain prickling behind his eyes at the very sight of the boy…no, now it was the man the boy had grown into.
"He's positively dashing," Lily gushed, as her husband clung to her tighter.
Remus had his own, solemn moment to observe the fine man that had helped raise his own son, after doing so much for so many.

Harry turned toward them; unable to see them, but he still knew they were there. As they had been every year. He flashed them a warm smile before turning back to his wife and friends.
"I…" James cleared his throat, "It looks like he turned out alright."
"I'd say all is well," Lily beamed.

End.
