A/N: This is a story that I actually was told to write by one of my good friends- she LOVES Twilight and wanted to be in it. Bella is her, in essence. Enjoy!
Chapter One: The Proposal
"Don't open your eyes," Edward said, his velvet voice sending a shiver down my spine. I grinned. He had been taking me somewhere- and he said that it was very special, but it was a surprise. I had no idea what he was doing or where he was taking me because even Alice wouldn't talk.
"All right," I said, playing along, "but this had better be good."
"It is," he replied. I could hear the smile in his voice. He led me for a little while longer and then stopped. He took both of my hands in his and then whispered in my ear. "Okay. Open your eyes."
I opened them and gasped a little bit. We were in our meadow, but there was a blanket spread out and there were candles set up around it. It was perfect in every way.
"Sit," Edward said, and I sat, my legs on my left side, looking at Edward. He said nothing as he sat across from me and took my hands in his. "Bella," he finally said, playing with my fingers. I remained silent- I could tell that what he had to say was important. "You know I could not exist without you…"
"Yes," I said, "and you know I feel the same way."
"Yes… I guess what I want to say is that…" He trailed off for a heartbeat before getting on one knee. "Isabella Swan, I love you with all of my being. Will you marry me?"
I sat there for a moment, stunned. I wasn't expecting that.
"Yes," I finally answered, and Edward produced a beautiful golden ring with a single diamond in the center, sliding it on the fourth finger of my left hand. He kissed me gently, tenderly, and I knew that this was exactly what I wanted… and now he would be mine for the rest of forever.

Yes, I know, it's sappy, and cliché, but I had to write something like this. :) I guess I am a hardcore romantic at heart. Anyway, I should have the second chapter up soon if I decide I don't want this to be a oneshot. Thanks for reading, and ideas/suggestions/reviews would be greatly appreciated.
Love,
Lauryn
